Key Responsibilities

• Develop creative interior design concepts based on client requirements, functionality, aesthetics, budget, and timelines.
• Create mood boards, material palettes, space plans, 2D drawings, presentations, and design proposals.
• Coordinate 3D visualizations, renders, walkthroughs, furniture designs, materials, finishes, and specifications.
• Handle client meetings, present concepts, incorporate feedback, and maintain strong client relationships.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, vendors, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct site visits, monitor quality and design execution, and resolve on-site design challenges.
• Prepare BOQs, specifications, project documentation, material approvals, and progress reports.

Manager – Millwork & Countertops Division

Department: Project Management

Location: Hyderabad, India (Offshore Headquarters)

Reports To: Director – Project Management

Position Overview

The Manager – Millwork & Countertops Division will lead and oversee all operational, technical, and project management functions related to millwork, countertops, and custom furniture packages for hospitality, multifamily, and residential construction projects.

This role is responsible for reviewing, redlining, correcting, and coordinating shop drawings received from vendors and fabrication partners to ensure compliance with project

specifications, architectural intent, and production feasibility. The ideal candidate must have

strong hands-on experience in the millwork, cabinetry, countertops, or custom furniture

industry and possess a deep understanding of fabrication methods, detailing standards, and

construction coordination.

The position requires leadership of offshore project coordination teams while working

closely with vendors, architects, designers, contractors, and internal stakeholders across

international projects.

Key Responsibilities

Shop Drawing Review & Technical Coordination

• Review vendor-submitted shop drawings for millwork, countertops, cabinetry, and

custom furniture packages.

• Redline, correct, and coordinate drawings to ensure compliance with architectural

drawings, project specifications, and fabrication standards.

• Ensure dimensions, material specifications, hardware details, countertop layouts,

joinery details, and installation requirements are accurate and buildable.

• Coordinate revisions with vendors, estimators, project managers, and consultants

until final approval is achieved.

• Identify design conflicts, constructability issues, and field coordination concerns

before production.

Project Management

• Manage projects from estimation and design coordination through production and

final delivery.

• Monitor project schedules, approvals, procurement timelines, and fabrication

milestones.

• Ensure all deliverables are completed within budget, schedule, and quality standards.

• Maintain organized project documentation including RFIs, submittals, drawing logs,

and revision tracking.

Vendor & Production Coordination

• Coordinate with millwork shops, stone fabricators, countertop vendors, and furniture

manufacturers.

• Review quotations, technical submissions, and fabrication capabilities.

• Support procurement planning and material coordination for projects.

• Resolve technical, quality, or scope-related issues with vendors and suppliers.

Team Leadership

• Supervise and mentor project coordinators, estimators, and drawing review staff.

• Delegate responsibilities and review team output for accuracy and quality.

• Establish and improve SOPs for drawing review, documentation, and project

workflows.

• Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment.

Client & Consultant Coordination

• Communicate with architects, interior designers, general contractors, and client

representatives regarding shop drawing approvals and technical clarifications.

• Participate in coordination meetings and ensure alignment between design intent

and fabrication requirements.

• Provide technical recommendations and value-engineering solutions when required.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates must have direct experience in one or more of the following industries:

• Millwork / Custom Millwork

• Countertops / Stone Fabrication

• Custom Furniture Manufacturing

Candidates without relevant millwork, countertop, cabinetry, or furniture industry

experience will not be considered.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in:

Experience

• 5–10 years of relevant experience in millwork, countertops, cabinetry, or furniture

manufacturing/project management.

• Strong experience reviewing and coordinating shop drawings.

• Experience working with hospitality, multifamily, or residential construction projects

preferred.

• Experience coordinating with offshore and international teams is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of millwork fabrication methods, countertop detailing, and furniture construction.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.

• Experience with Bluebeam, SketchUp, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, or related software is a plus.

• Knowledge of materials including laminates, veneers, quartz, granite, solid surfaces, hardware, and specialty finishes.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CAD professional with strong expertise in 3D modelling, part and assembly design, and technical drafting. In this role, you will create and refine high-quality CAD models and engineering drawings, develop robust design workflows, and collaborate with engineering teams to deliver accurate, manufacturable, and production-ready designs.

What You'll Do

● Create and review data grounded in real CAD and mechanical design practice, parts, assemblies, drawings, and the reasoning behind them.

● Reverse-engineer geometry: take an STL/mesh with no feature history and reconstruct the design intent as parametric, code-first CAD (build123d), inferring sketches, features, datums, patterns, and key dimensional relationships.

● Evaluate AI-generated design solutions, 3D models, feature trees, mating strategies, drawings, and pin down failure cases, edge cases, and quality gaps.

● Decompose complex modelling and verification tasks into structured, step-by-step workflows the model can learn from and be measured against.

Domain Responsibilities

● Build and assess parametric models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings across machined, sheet-metal, cast/moulded, and weldment parts.

● Judge design intent, constraints, and robustness, modelling approach. ● Apply and check GD&T, tolerancing, and design-for-manufacturing across the full product design lifecycle (concept → detailing → design review → handoff).

● Validate code-first reconstructions against source geometry via deviation and dimensional-accuracy checks.

Requirements

Must Have

● B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech/Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related) from a Tier 1/Tier 2 institute (IIT, NIT, BITS, IIIT, DTU/NSUT, or equivalent).

● 5+ years of hands-on CAD/mechanical design with breadth across multiple platforms (Autodesk Fusion, SolidWorks, Creo, NX, CATIA, or Inventor), multiple part types, and the full design workflow.

● Strong command of parametric modelling, assembly design, engineering drawings, GD&T, and DFM.

● Working Python ability and genuine comfort with code-first CAD (build123d / CadQuery), or a clear track record of picking up scripting fast.

Good to Have

● Mesh processing (trimesh, Open3D, numpy-stl) and familiarity with OpenCascade/OCCT.

● Exposure to adjacent disciplines, surfacing, simulation-driven design, generative/topology optimization, or CAM handoff.
