Android Developer

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development team and ensure projects are completed smoothly and on schedule.
• Stay ahead of the game by finding and using new technologies to boost the business.
• Work hand in hand with the crore team to figure out their needs and keep our products on point with the market trends.
• Keep our products high quality, scalable and secure.
• Develop and maintain a detailed project plan to track progress and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Brainstorm and plan the company's tech strategy with the CTO and other important leaders.
• Keep up to date with the latest tech trends and find new growth opportunities.
• Give the development team technical guidance and be a mentor to them.

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ Years of experience leading software development teams with a track record of delivering complex products.
• Technical know-how and experience with the latest software development tech.
• Proven experience in identifying and implementing new technologies to drive business results.
• Experience handling challenges and taking advantage of the opportunities that come with working in a startup environment.
• Ace leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-starter with loads of drive and a desire to make things happen.
• Understand the Mobile development Landscape, especially Android and IOS.
• Hands-on experience with API-based development.

We're looking for an experienced and mature engineer (2-6 yrs experience), who wants to build incredible products while shaping the architecture, tools, and engineering culture of our company

Responsibilities:

• Architect and build our native Android application using Java or Kotlin.
• Set up our backend using either the MEAN (Mongo, Node) or Django stack.
• Collaborate with the design team on feasibility and design reviews.
• Set up DevOps processes - CI/CD and release management.
• Hire an additional backend engineer to scale the application based on requirements.

Requirements:

• You possess strong computer science fundamentals.
• You have native Android application development skills - with Java/Kotlin as a framework.
• You have strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• You have built backends for mobile applications - using the MEAN or Django stack.
• You have some mobile app projects that are worthy of public view (Play Store, Github).
• You like discussing a plan upfront, welcome open collaboration and are an excellent verbal and written communicator.
• We’re a fast-paced environment so while we value robustness, we also hope for speed. You’ll hop from project to project and should be a self-starter.
• You are open to learning new stuff (important).

• Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals and excellent problem solving skills.

About the Role

As an Android Developer, you will own the Android app and strive to deliver the best learning experience out there to our learners that upGrad is known for. You will be responsible for developing features, taking those features to production and maintaining the existing code. Innovative nature and pro-active involvement in the product is taken very seriously at upGrad, therefore, a major part of your role would involve thinking about new features and new ways to deliver quality learning experience to our learners

Skills/Experience

1. Minimum 6+ years of hands-on Android development experience.
2. Strong Java and object-oriented concepts.
3. Solid understanding of Android architectural patterns especially MVVM and their importance in scalable software development process.
4. Strong understanding of Android fundamentals.
5. Experience in Android UI creation.
6. Experience of Android Live Data, Kotlin and Constraint layout would be a huge plus point.

Years of Exp –  Minimum 6-8 

Good understanding of Java Programming language

- Hands-on experience in the full life cycle of Android application development

- Strong knowledge in RESTFUL web services

-Sound Knowledge of Android SDK's- Having a strong knowledge of building UI

- Having an understanding of working with third-party libraries

- Tools : Android Studio, Eclipse

-Good to Have : Knowledge and understanding of Kotlin

Responsibilities And Duties:

• As a Flutter Developer, you will create multi-platform apps for iOS and Android using Google's Flutter development framework.
• The primary focus will be on creating new experiences and maintaining the acclaimed app. You will additionally work on innovative new app projects as well as internally incubated ventures.
• Deep experience contributing to and managing high-scale production mobile apps. You must have previous experience in Flutter development.

Requirement:

• 3-5 years working as a full-time professional developer (Mobile) and 0.6 Year in a flutter(Must).
• Experience building a moderately complex Android app with knowledge of dart.
• Bonus if it's on the Play Store or we can view the project
• Willing to work with cross-platform frameworks.
• Willing to learn and work on different mobile platforms/frameworks when needed.
• Published at least one app on the Play Store using Flutter/ Native (Java/Kotlin/Swift/Object c).
