About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Android Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Android application and SDK development, proficiency in AIDL (Android Interface Definition Language), and expertise in creating scalable and modular applications using multi-module architecture and MVVM (Model-View-ViewModel) patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust Android SDKs and libraries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new SDK features.
• Implement and manage inter-process communication using AIDL.
• Develop and maintain services and background processes for seamless application functionality.
• Architect scalable multi-module Android applications with proper separation of concerns.
• Utilize the MVVM architecture for clean, testable, and maintainable code.
• Optimize application performance and memory usage.
• Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code while adhering to industry standards.
• Perform code reviews, provide mentorship, and ensure best practices are followed across the development team.
• Debug and resolve issues, ensuring application stability and reliability.
• Stay updated on the latest Android development trends, tools, and frameworks.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• 3-7+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining Android SDKs.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with AIDL.
• Proficient in Android services, background tasks, and inter-process communication.
• Expertise in multi-module architecture for Android applications.
• Strong understanding of MVVM architecture and data binding.
• Solid knowledge of Android design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito) for unit and integration testing.
• Proficiency with tools like Git, Gradle, and Android Studio.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for Android projects.
• Knowledge of Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
• Exposure to performance monitoring and optimization tools.
• Contributions to open-source projects or Android developer communities.
• Experience with Jetpack libraries and Compose. 

•Strong in Android, Kotlin, and MVVM architectural pattern

•Great understanding of Coroutines, Memory management, and App performance

•Solid understandings of Connectivity - BLE, WiFi

•Unit and Instrumentation testing knowledge in Espresso, JUnit4 or JUnit5, and Mockito/MockK libraries

•Experience in Dependency Injection - Hilt, Dagger2

•Good knowledge in screen navigation using Navigation APIs

•Good to have knowledge in Jetpack Compose

Have an Experience indeveloping nativeAndroid apps(depth knowledgeof Android SDK,

NDK)

Depth knowledge of SQLite and Room

Excellent in JAVA, Kotlin language with a good debugging Skills

Expert in using Android Studio and Git .

Developing universal application, which can run on most available android devices.

Must have good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming

Good eye for mobile app design and product sense

Experience in cross platform Tools like Appcelerator

Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment.

Good communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders

Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes.

Experience of working on Android Studio.

Good in data structure and Algorithms.

Very Sound knowledge of Android Components.

Good in Multi-threading concepts(Desired).

Very good understanding of Java, garbage collection and design patterns.

Third party API Integration like Facebook, Twitter, Payment Gateways.

Experience with Android Google Maps API, and other location based services

• Expert in JAVA, Kotlin, Reactive programming, Asynchronous programming and Dependency Injection. Experience with unit-tests and automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with any architectures like MV*(MVP/MVVM/MVI).
• Strong focus on high-quality mobile UI experiences.
• Operates independently with almost no oversight.
• Is able to apply domain expertise to think critically and make wise decisions for the team, taking into account tradeoffs and constraints.
• Communicates tech decisions through design docs and tech talks.
• Has delivered multiple projects with end-to-end engineering ownership.
• Keeps track of new technology/tools and embraces them as necessary
• 12+ years of experience in a product-driven organization.
