Job Description

Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Cloud Server Administrator to join our team and play a vital role in managing and maintaining our cloud infrastructure. As a cloud servers administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, security, and efficiency of our cloud-based servers. 

You will work closely with other IT professionals, developers, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services within the organization. The candidate is expected to demonstrate proficiency in leveraging AI technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of job performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of RHEL/Rocky (primarily) and Ubuntu cloud systems
• Managing Google Cloud VMs, storage, databases and other Google Cloud Platform services
• OS updates, security hardening, system automation, network management and database management 
• Application deployment and management of 'Gitlab server' based development environments with CI/CD
• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures
• Manage and maintain server performance, security, and functionality
• Manage user access and permissions for cloud services
• Monitor system activity to identify and troubleshoot server issues
• Monitor cloud resource utilization and cost optimization
• Perform regular security audits and updates to safeguard against cyber threats
• Document server configurations and procedures for future reference
• Stay up-to-date on the latest server technologies and best practices
• Collaborate with IT support teams and other departments to resolve technical issues

Requirements

Technical Skills

• B.E./ B.Tech./ M.E./ M.Tech./ MCA/ Msc.IT or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud administration or a similar IT role
• Experience with one or more major cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• Strong understanding of server operating systems (e.g. RHEL/RockyLinux, Ubuntu)
• Excellent knowledge of network security principles and best practices
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash(must), Python/Go/C++/PHP (bonus) is required for automation and integration tasks
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex server issues
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of DevOps principles and practice
