Job Description:
An Assistant Engineer works as part of an engineering team to support various aspects of production, design, quality control, and maintenance. They are involved in project planning, process improvement, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting. The role also includes monitoring safety regulations, analyzing test results, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support & Project Assistance
- Assist senior engineers in project design, execution, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct research, collect data, and prepare technical reports.
- Participate in product development and testing processes.
- Production & Process Optimization
- Monitor production activities and ensure smooth operation.
- Identify inefficiencies and propose process improvements.
- Coordinate with production teams to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Quality Control & Assurance
- Conduct quality checks and inspections of materials, components, and finished products.
- Ensure products meet industry and regulatory standards.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Equipment Maintenance & Safety Compliance
- Ensure machines and tools are properly maintained.
- Follow safety protocols and assist in risk assessment.
- Train workers on the safe operation of equipment.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain records of production, quality tests, and project progress.
- Prepare reports for senior engineers and management.
- Assist in preparing SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

Color Neon is a French brand that designs and manufactures custom LED neon signs. A customer sends us their text, logo or artwork and we turn it into a made-to-measure sign: they choose the font, colour and size, preview it in 3D, and see it on their own wall before they order.
We sell direct across France and Europe from colorneon.com. More than 10,000 homes, bars, restaurants, shops and event planners have bought from us. Every sign is handcrafted, energy-efficient LED neon with a 2-year warranty.
The business runs on Shopify. We built our own 3D neon configurator so customers can design their sign in the browser, and we work AI-first: the team uses Claude and Codex every day to build, test and ship.
We are now opening our first engineering seat in India, in Indore. Until now every technical decision has been made remotely from France. That changes with this hire: one engineer, sitting with the founder, owning the Shopify apps, the storefront rebuild and the configurator. One product, long term, with real ownership.
