What do you think about the UX & design of PayTm Inbox?

So, yesterday paytm rolled out it's in-app message service PayTm inbox that will allow users to chat, send & request money to other users. What do you think about it's overall user experience and design?

This is a start of something big and new. I believe it has the potential to become a very important part of the Platform and help in transforming the way we send money to atleast our Closed ones. I'm not sure if it can serve the purpose for single time transactions though.

The New process is really simple and the overall User Experience is pretty good.

They've even gone the next step to implement a somewhat new design with the fields and layout ( so i feel a paytm redesign might be in the works ) . It looks really neat and the Empty states look coool. :-D

There are a bunch of problems with the UX  based on my experience though.

1. There's no confirmation on sending the money to the Receiver. You think you'll be asked for a confirmation while sending the sum of money in case user commits an error but once you hit send, it's gone.

2. Upon requesting money, it just says money requested. I believe there should be a very small description that tells more about what exactly is happening. There should a brief explanantion of how it'll work.

3. The way the icons are paired at the bottom can be better, I believe the icons for receiving and sending should be placed first as they are the the USP of the Feature and will also allow for easy scanning from left to right as otherwise they fall in between standard attachment icons and location icon which i feel is a bit odd.

4. The search icon on the toolbar gives you the affordance of being able to search the contacts whereas it's the global search for PayTm.

5. The Position of Orders seems a bit off to me. Considering the fact that it doesn't even show my transaction history which would have been more relevant to the Inbox, they decided to put It as a part of the Paytm Mall orders which i don't think belongs here. Although, it might help in cross promotion of PayTm mall which i feel a lot of people are yet to discover but from the user's point of view i just feel it's an extra addition and might not serve a real Purpose.

6. The Inclusion of Games is something new. People might want to try it and placing it inside Inbox at this point of time when everyone will be checking the Inbox feature certainly would help it gain popularity otherwise it might have been overshadowed by the hugeness of the platform.

This can also help generate even more revenue by putting more sponsored apps/games and would drive more audience if done with big companies.

Overall, I think it's definitely a step in the right direction and i would definetly be using it to send money to people close to me.

What do you think ?
