What Will You Be Doing?

Technical Leadership

• Lead a team of developers through design, code reviews, and technical mentorship.

• Set architectural direction and ensure scalability, modularity, and code quality.

• Work with stakeholders to translate business goals into robust technical solutions.

Backend Development & Data Engineering

• Design and build clean, high-performance backend services using FastAPI and Python

best practices.

• Handle row- and column-level data transformation using Pandas and NumPy.

• Apply data wrangling, cleansing, and preprocessing techniques across microservices and pipelines.

Database & Performance Optimization

• Write performant queries, procedures, and triggers using PostgreSQL and PL/pgSQL.

• Understand legacy logic in PL/SQL and participate in rewriting or modernizing it for PostgreSQL-based systems.

• Tune both backend and database performance, including memory, indexing, and query optimization.

Parallelism & Communication

• Implement multithreading, multiprocessing, and parallel data flows in Python.

• Integrate Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pub/Sub systems for real-time and async message

processing.

Engineering Excellence

• Drive adherence to Agile, Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and DevOps pipelines.

• Promote testing (unit/integration), monitoring, and observability for all backend systems.

• Stay current with Python ecosystem evolution and introduce tools that improve productivity and performance.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Python AWS Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in backend development using Python, cloud infrastructure on AWS, and building serverless or microservices-based architectures. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure applications in the cloud.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Python and frameworks like Django or Flask
• Design and implement serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and other AWS services
• Develop data processing pipelines using services such as AWS Glue, Step Functions, S3, DynamoDB, and RDS
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code following best practices
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
• Monitor and optimize system performance and troubleshoot production issues
• Collaborate with DevOps and front-end teams to integrate APIs and cloud-native services
• Maintain and improve application security and compliance with industry standards

Required Skills:

• Strong programming skills in Python
• Solid understanding of AWS cloud services (Lambda, S3, EC2, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, API Gateway, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK)
• Good understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Git, and version control systems
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, ECS, or EKS) is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in OOP and Design Patterns, experience with functional programming would be a plus
  • Data modelling experience in Relational Databases

• Product Delivery
  • Ability to scope, review and refine user stories for technical completeness and to alleviate dependency
  • Well versed in working with agile methodologies which includes phases such as design, development, code review, testing and release management
  • Ability to have worked in a CI/CD environment, with hands on experience with Git or any similar source code management tools
• Product Maintenance

• Experience troubleshooting server performance issues such as memory tuning, GC tuning, resource leaks
• Continuously refactor applications to ensure high quality design

Job Responsibilities

✓ Perform the role of Technical Lead on assigned projects to drive solution design (especially backend) and API services development.

✓ Be the thought leader and champion for above mentioned technologies.

✓ Drive technical analysis for new projects including planning and driving proof-of-concepts, if needed.

✓ Drive tasks related to backend development by providing architectural and technical leadership to mid-tier and database developers.

✓ Conduct peer reviews as the lead into Git to confirmed that developed code meets acceptable standards and guidelines.

✓ Work closely with the rest of the leads, mid-tier development, front-end developers, database developers, etc. to ensure end-to-end integrity of the solution being developed.

✓ Work closely with the rest of the tech leads and senior engineering leadership team to ensure reuse where applicable to increase productivity and throughput.

✓ Conduct technical interview to staff open positions in the backend team.

✓ Delegate work and assignments to team members

✓ Collaborate with their team to identify and fix technical problems

✓ Analyze users' needs and then finding applications to serve them

✓ Drive assigned tasks related to SOC 2 certification and ensure compliance to defined controls for areas under lead’s purview.

✓ Prepare Technical design documents which would help the team to understand the technical flow

✓ Active participation in customer calls especially discussions related to Technical/Architectural and provide inputs.

Required Experience: 

✓ Backend Lead around 14 years of experience

✓ Server less Computing Architecture

✓ NodeJS, MySQL, Jenkins, Python, GitLab Technologies

✓ Good knowledge of AWS Cloud

✓ Full cycle AWS implementation experience

✓ Project experience in development and maintenance support for AWS web service and Cloudbased implementations

✓ Experience leading teams of up to 10 + professionals

Educational Qualifications: 

Engineering graduate or B. Tech/MCA with relevant major subjects like Computer Science

4. Senior level, 5-10 years of experience

5. It is important they have those skills so that they can take over current work. There are codes written in both Java as well as Python. (Java is legacy but that is the main search engine code). So it will be counter-productive if engineers hired have experience in both.
