Team lead (Angular)

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Write, review and merge production code across Vue.js frontend and Node.js backend
2. Own code quality for the India team — set review standards and refactor technical debt
3. Debug across the full stack — from Vue rendering issues to Mongo aggregations to Kubernetes pod issues
4. Guide the team on day-to-day development decisions and step in on unsolved problems
5. Design solutions for new modules from spec to schema to API contract to implementation
6. Own MongoDB data modelling decisions — document structure, embedding vs referencing, index strategy
7. Review Node.js service design: API structure, error handling, validation, authentication, rate limiting, background processing
8. Make and document build-vs-buy calls on third-party services with cost and integration effort
9. Ensure the platform stays stable and performant on a live, revenue-generating system
10. Demonstrate daily working use of AI coding tools and spec-driven development practice
11. Judge AI output quality and know when tasks should not be handed to agents
12. Set up and maintain repo-level context files and make the team's AI setup consistent
13. Coach the team on AI tools while holding the line on quality
14. Work with LLM APIs, embeddings, semantic search and understand where AI features help
15. Run sprint planning, estimation, standups and retros for the India team
16. Break requirements into technical tasks with clear acceptance criteria
17. Track velocity and flag slippage and blockers early
18. Own release coordination — deployment planning, rollback strategy and post-release monitoring
19. Line-manage 6–10 engineers across web, mobile and QA — 1:1s, feedback, performance conversations and growth planning
20. Mentor mid-level engineers into senior ones and build depth
21. Participate in hiring — technical screening, interviewing and onboarding
22. Keep the team's engineering practices consistent: documentation, testing, branching, incident handling
23. Act as the main technical point of contact between the India team and the UAE office product and business stakeholders
24. Communicate clearly to mixed technical and non-technical audiences — status, risk, trade-offs and time cost
25. Manage the time-zone gap with structured overlap hours, written updates and async documentation
26. Own technical delivery on modules including product catalogue, pricing, ordering, workflows, order management, payments, invoicing and vendor onboarding

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Architect / Tech Lead with strong expertise in Node.js and Angular/React who can own end-to-end technical delivery, lead an engineering team, make architecture and design decisions, and work closely with Product, QA, and DevOps teams.

The ideal candidate should have strong product development experience and be capable of taking ownership from requirements and architecture through development, deployment, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical delivery of applications/modules, ensuring quality, timelines, scalability, and maintainability.
• Design and evolve application architecture using Node.js, React, Angular TypeScript/JavaScript, and modern architectural patterns.
• Translate product/business requirements into technical architecture, system design, APIs, data flows, and implementation plans.
