Job Summary

We are seeking a Hardware Engineer to design, develop, and support low-power electronic hardware systems, from concept through production. The role involves schematic design, PCB layout, component selection, and collaboration with firmware and mechanical teams to deliver reliable and manufacturable hardware solutions.

Key Responsibilities

·        Design electronic circuits and develop schematics and PCB layouts

·        Select components based on performance, power, cost, and availability

·        Develop and review battery-operated designs

·        Ensure designs meet electrical, thermal, and reliability requirements

·        Support hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation

·        Prepare BOMs, Gerbers, and manufacturing documentation

·        Work closely with firmware, and testing team

·        Review and improve designs for DFM/DFA and production readiness

Required Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

·        Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics

·        Experience with PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad, Eagle, or similar)

·        Familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded systems

·        Ability to read datasheets and apply reference designs

·        Basic knowledge of EMI/ESD protection and signal integrity

Preferred Qualifications

·        Experience with low-power or battery-operated hardware

·        Exposure to IoT devices, sensors, or communication modules

·        Experience supporting prototype to production transitions

·        Knowledge of manufacturing and testing processes

·        Ability to document designs clearly and professionally

You will be working directly with the founders on high impact problems in the Neurological Healthcare domain. Responsibilities :

1. RTOS based multithreaded software development

2. Building future ready, scalable software architectures

3. Liasing with hardware team to decide project requirements

4. Realtime IoT functionality development on ESP32 platform

5. Integration of third party services for cloud based communications and computation

6. Maintaining and documenting software via git (GitLab)

7. Coordinating releases, setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines

8. Managing AWS based backend services, integration with AWS services such as S3,

Sagemaker

9. Firmware security, Flash encryption, Bootloader encryption, secure communications

10. Deep integration with hardware team - stress testing hardware

11. Development of device drivers

12. Software testing and maintenance

Recommended experience :

1. Good command over Linux

2. Familiarity with real time tasks and timing sensitive system design

3. Familiarity with BLE/Wifi/etc IoT communication protocols

4. Familiarity with major third party platforms for cloud and ML/AI integration

5. Testing actual physical outcomes of programmed solutions

6. Deep familiarity with ESP-IDF

Compensation range : 4-12 lpa + ESOPs

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement embedded software applications for IoT devices using C programming language.
• Develop and maintain firmware for Raspberry Pi-based systems, ensuring optimal performance and compatibility with various IoT sensors and peripherals.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define and document system requirements and specifications.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of embedded software to identify and resolve any issues or bugs.
• Optimize code and improve system performance to enhance the overall user experience.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in embedded systems and IoT development.
• Work closely with the product management team to translate customer requirements into technical specifications.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the team during the development and deployment phases.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in C programming language with a solid understanding of embedded systems.
• Experience developing software for Raspberry Pi or similar single-board computers.
• Knowledge of IoT protocols and technologies such as MQTT, CoAP, TCP/IP, and wireless communication (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.).
• Familiarity with various sensors, actuators, and electronic components commonly used in IoT devices.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues in embedded systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Prior experience in developing IoT applications or working on IoT projects is a plus.

• Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment

• 32-bit Microcontroller knowledge is essential (ARM Cortex based micro-controllers (STM32).
• Esp32 architecture knowledge is essential.
• Strong experience in C, C++, Free-RTOS
• Strong experience in CUBEMX IDE, MDK Version 5 – Keil, Arduino IDE environment
• Good knowledge in HW and communication protocols like CAN, SPI, UART, I2C, USB 
• Good knowledge in TFT Displays and Sensors is added advantage
• Good knowledge of implementation of motor controls as required, pulse width modulation schemes (PWM).
• Good knowledge of power electronics (TRIACs, MOSFETs, IGBTs, gate drivers) and require protections (Over/under voltage/current).
• Document firmware designs, specifications, test plans, revisions and produce test reports

Desired Skills, Knowledge& Experience

B. Tech/M. Tech/MCA with 8-10 years of industry experience

Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python development in Linux

Experience in device or sensor communication interfaces (wired/wireless, short range/long range).

Experience of microcontroller and microprocessor.

Knowledge of IoT gateway firmware development, container, and OS hardening.

Experience in device communication protocol, Edge computing and processing

Competent in application development for Image processing, transmission, and storage

Good understanding and of programming primitives, data structures, multi-threading and memory management techniques

Strong command over complex sensor and hardware control logic to work seamlessly with edge devices or gateway

Proactive and Self motivated

Strong verbal and written communication skill
