Software Development Engineer

We are looking to recruit an expert for backend software development at Webnyay. We are an enterprise SaaS startup catering to India and international markets. We are now growing fast and need a rockstar senior software developer who is an expert in Python/Django and GCP.

What we are looking for:

• At least 6 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 4 years of experience with Python & Django.
• Proficiency in Natural Language Processing (tokenization, stopword removal, lemmatization, embeddings, etc.)
• Experience in computer vision fundamentals, particularly object detection concepts and architectures (e.g., YOLO, Faster R-CNN)
• Experience in search and retrieval systems and related concepts like ranking models, vector search, or semantic search techniques
• Experience with multiple databases (relational and non-relational).
• Experience with hosting on GCP and other cloud services.
• Familiar with continuous integration and other automation.
• Focus on code quality and writing scalable code.
• Ability to learn and adopt new technologies depending on business requirements.
• Prior startup experience will be a plus!

Some of your responsibilities would include:

• Work closely in a highly AGILE environment with a team of engineers.
• Create and maintain technical documentation of technical design and solution.
• Build products/features that are highly scalable, secure, highly available, high performing and cost-effective.
• Help team in debugging.
• Perform code reviews.
• Understand the full feature set/ implementation and architecture of the applications.
• Analyze business goals and product requirements and contribute to application architecture design, development and delivery.
• Provide technical expertise for every phase of the project lifecycle; from concept development to solution design, implementation, optimization and support.
• Act as an Interface with business teams to understand and create technical specifications for workable solutions within the project.
• Explore and work with LLM APIs and Generative AI.
• Make performance-related recommendations, identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks (hardware, software, configuration); drive performance tuning, re-design and re-factoring.
• Participate in the software development lifecycle, which includes research, new development, modification, security, reuse, re-engineering and maintenance of common component libraries.
• Participate in product definition and feature prioritization.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders across business verticals.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong experience in Python (4+ years).
• Hands-on experience with any database (SQL or NoSQL).
• Experience with frameworks like Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
• Knowledge of ORMs, API development, and unit testing.
• Familiarity with Git and Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with the Kafka tool (Added Advantage)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer / Information Science (BE / BTech) or Master’s in Computer Applications (MCA) Experience:
• Two to five years general software engineering experience
• Experience in web development using the Ruby on Rails web application framework
• At least two years of Ruby on Rails programming experience
• Thorough understanding of the philosophy and design of Ruby on Rails
• Desktop publishing skills: HTML5, xHTML, CSS

Knowledge of:

• JavaScript and JavaScript libraries: jQuery, Plugins etc.
• Unix and Linux systems
• Relational databases: SQL, etc.
• Frameworks: Active record, etc.
• Servers: Nginx, Mongrel, Webrick
• Performance management using New Relic, Web Page Test tools
• SEO rules, minification, rails asset pipelines
• REST APIs and their usage

Highly preferred experience:

• Ability to work with the Amazon EC2, S3, and EBS services
• NoSQL databases: MongoDB, Memcached, CouchDB
• Git, SVN
• Proactive and resourceful person who achieves tasks with minimal oversight
• Team player with the ability and desire to become an integral part of a fast-paced team
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel

• 5+ years of Android experience working in a modern commercial web development environment and shipping solid product;

Job Description:
We are looking for talented Technical Managers to be part of the Product Engineering team. The candidate should have good experience with Java/J2ee based technologies and will be responsible for delivering features that are meaningful to the customer and consistent with the product vision through the management of a cross-functional team. The person will also contribute to the team as a servant leader and ensure that the team has everything needed to be successful.

Technical Competencies

• Strong Java/J2EE development experience with demonstrated ability to develop and troubleshoot large mission applications & Software Products
• Experience on exception handling, correct use of data structures, multi-threaded programming, memory management and application tuning
• Excellent exposure in Object Oriented Design skills using Java/J2ee along with:
• Core Java Language (Collections, Concurrency/Multithreading)
• JDBC concepts (connection pooling, statement, result set)
