Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior .NET Engineer with extensive database design experience to join our team. As a Senior .NET Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex software applications using the .NET framework. You will also be responsible for designing and implementing complex database solutions using the EF Core framework that support these applications.
Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications using the .NET framework and database solutions using Entity Framework Core
- Create and maintain data models and schema designs using best practices and industry standards
- Develop and implement database security measures to protect sensitive data
- Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that meets specifications
- Troubleshoot and debug software issues as needed
- Keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software development and database design
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other developers
Personal Qualities, Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in software development using the .NET framework and database design and development using Entity Framework Core
- Experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts, design patterns and microservice architecture.
- Experience with database design, including data modelling and schema design
- Experience with MySQL Server or other relational database management systems
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- You have 2-5 years of experience using two or more development languages (ASP.NET, JavaScript, Scala, C#, etc.) with experience in Object-Oriented programming and full-stack web application development
- You can write clean, high-quality code in a variety of languages and are also able to spot and improve bad code
- You have experience with Agile and/or Continuous Delivery approaches such as Continuous Integration, TDD, Infrastructure as Code, etc.

The Python Backend Engineer position may be a good fit for you if:
- You have 3 (or more) years of experience building and maintaining cloud applications.
- You have built APIs with Python, Flask, Django or FastAPI before.

Role and Responsibilities
● Build a low latency serving layer that powers DataWeave's Dashboards, Reports, and Analytics
functionality
● Build robust RESTful APIs that serve data and insights to DataWeave and other products
● Design user interaction workflows on our products and integrating them with data APIs

Skills and Requirements
● 4-7 years of experience building and scaling APIs and web applications.
● Experience building and managing large scale data/analytics systems.

● Be passionate about writing code and have experience coding in multiple languages, including at least
one scripting language, preferably Python.
● Be able to argue convincingly why feature X of language Y rocks/sucks, or why a certain design decision
is right/wrong, and so on.
● Be a self-starter—someone who thrives in fast paced environments with minimal ‘management’.
● Have experience working with multiple storage and indexing technologies such as MySQL, Redis,
MongoDB, Cassandra, Elastic.
● Good knowledge (including internals) of messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
● Use the command line like a pro. Be proficient in Git and other essential software development tools.
