Roles & Responsibilities -

• Experience in Java, J2EE, and Java 8 Features
• Experience in Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate.
• Experience in Microservices Architecture.
• Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with build tools such as Ant, Maven, and Gradle
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum framework.
• Sound knowledge of Oops programming
• Basic knowledge of any cloud and CI/CD Tools

• Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle
• Design, implement and maintain Java-based applications that can be high-volume and low-latency
• Analyze user requirements to define business objectives

Responsibilities

• Design and build highly reliable, scalable and performant infrastructure for media heavy workflows.
• Own large technical deliverables and execute in a structured manner.
• Take the accountability of the overall health of the infrastructure you build.
• Platformize components as libraries, utilities and promote reuse.
• Be able to conceptualize and develop prototypes quickly.
• Lead by example, mentor and guide team members on everything from structured problem solving to development of best practices.

Requirements

• 4 to 10 years of industry experience in software engineering with at least 4 years in Video, Audio & Image processing and streaming technologies.
• Deep expertise with various codecs, compute efficiency, streaming protocols and network topologies for media heavy workflows.
• Deep understanding of your tools: Languages, frameworks, libraries and systems.
• Experience with abstracting requirements into frameworks.
• Hungry to learn, share knowledge, and enjoy mentoring others.
• Data driven, having customer empathy, striving to build best of class, performant services.

About the role:

You will own a functional area - from product conception to its delivery to customers. You are expected to design and code independently in multiple tech components related to your functional area. You must also develop a deep understanding of non-functional requirements, such as reliability and availability, scale, horizontal scalability, etc. over time to make tech stack decisions accordingly. You are expected to actively mentor junior engineers. You own

the codebase quality.

What you’ll need

• B.Tech or M.Tech equivalent with at least 3 years of experience
• Deep expertise in at least one programming language & tech stack.
• Strong object-oriented design skills, ability to apply design patterns, and an uncanny ability to design intuitive module and class-level interfaces
• Experience in building data-driven web application design and development is a plus
• Good understanding of multiple tech solutions and ability to pick the correct one for the given situation
• Prior work experience in an agile environment or continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI or CD)
• Ability and experience in designing high-level software designs of the scalable system, taking NFR (non-functional requirement) into consideration

Competencies:

• Relevant experience on using tools like JSP, Servlet for web applications
• MVC frame works - Struts or Spring
• Web services- SOAP and REST WebLogic, Hibernate
• Middleware technologies MQ OSB.
• Web/App Servers: Tomcat or WebLogic or JBoss
• Experience using Angular, Micro Services using Spring, jersey, Swagger
• Good knowledge of Backend and Front-end technologies
• Good knowledge of Core Java, J2EE, Ajax, Spring, Java Script, jQuery, HTML
• Good knowledge of any RDBMS database like SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL & Cluster set-up, performance benchmarking, client-side API evaluation, knowledge of various deployment strategies
• Strong knowledge with Core JAVA concepts – Exception handling, Multi-threading, Collection, String, OOPS etc…
• Advanced understanding of Windows and Linux based operating systems
• Mainly 3-4 months hands on with reverse engineering and old legacy solutions to new modern applications
• Working knowledge using REST, HTTP, TCP, SCTP protocols
• Hands-on with JAVA frameworks such as – Thread Pool Executor, Object Pooling, Logging (Log4j preferred), XML/JSON handling

Education Criteria:

• Preferred BE degree in CS, E&C, E&E
• Proficient being a J2EE Developer (courses or project done) and data analytics skills
• Flexible to work on any projects assigned

Must Haves

• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems.
• 4+ years’  work experience in  software development
• BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Understanding of operating system fundamentals (Linux)
• Understanding of scalable computing systems, software architecture, data structures, and algorithms
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills, with excellent problem solving abilities
• Working experience with Kubernetes
• Experienced working with distributed databases at scale

• Experience in developing software using AWS native services & technologies.
• Experience taking a lead role in building and operating scalable distributed systems
• Experience in Agile/SCRUM enterprise-scale software development
