What you will be doing

• Building and maintaining Java micro services.
• Develop new features and improve existing features of the application.
• Coding, Implementing, Unit Testing and Documenting Java based services.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code.
• Code reviews and ensuring adherence to software development standards.
• Contribute to team and organizational improvements in process and infrastructure.
• Participating in requirements gathering and functional specification activities.
• Resolving and helping to mitigate production issues.

• Strong Data Structure and Algorithms
• Experience of building micro services architectures, developing RESTful services,continuous integration, unit and integration testing.
• Proficient with SpringBoot, Hibernate, JUnit and other Java frameworks apart from RDBMS and NoSQL databases - PostgreSQL, MongoDB
• Gauge or other BDD frameworks and experience in Fintech would be preferred.

• Strong experience in Core Java, Multi-Threading, data structures (List/Map/Set) and unit testing with (Junit, Mockito)
• Strong experience with Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring REST, Spring Data), ORM frameworks (JPA, Hibernate) and RDBMS (Oracle/MySQL/Postgres)
• Strong experience in applying Object-Oriented design principles and Design Patterns
• Good knowledge of Multi-Tier architecture, Micro Services architecture and Service Oriented Architecture 
• Exposure to AWS Cloud, NoSQL Database (Mongo, Cassandra), Message Broker (Active
• MQ/RabbitMQ/Apache Kafka) and Big Data Technologies (Hadoop/Hive/Spark)
• Additionally, must possess capability to review code, produce technical specification document
• and knowledge of code quality tools (PMD/FindBugs/Sonar)

Java Developer

As a senior technical member of the team, you will be expected to lead the team in the design, architecture, and implementation of high-quality, well-architected software products with a specific focus on cloud, distributed systems, scalability, elasticity and SLA rollups into each component. In this role, you are expected to interact with Senior Architects, Product Managers, Solution Architects and occasionally, with Partners and customers to discuss and collaborate on strategies for enhancing features and coming up with next-generation products. Critical thinking and strong leadership skills are a must as the candidate will be involved in leading a team and making crucial road map decisions.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Java-based development projects using RESTful APIs, SpringBoot, horizontal scalability, microservices, high availability principles
• You master the entire life-cycle including research, design, application and deployment architecture, development, testing (dev owns quality), continuous deployment and continuous delivery up until to production.
• You will develop complex, highly available, distributed, cloud-based solutions, and maintain its high level of quality software.
• Solid background in OOP, object and data modelling using SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience using containers, Kubernetes and developing services on AWS
• Monitor resource allocation, consumption, and performance.
• Engage in service software performance analysis and system tuning.
• Challenge yourself to walk in a different path and to deliver quickly while maintaining a high quality
• Experience with automation tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI
• Excellent communication skills essential

Job Details: 

• Three plus years of experience in IT systems analysis and application program development
• Experience in an Object Oriented Programming language such as Java is a must
• The candidate must be a hands-on coder doing active development
• Extensive experience programming in Java Application Development & RESTful API
• Experience in AWS Cloud technologies is optional but good to have
• Proficient in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, workflows, and design patterns

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 8+ years experience in web application development and architecture.
• ·Extensive experience using open source software libraries
• Strong experience in at least one MVC architecture or application of the pattern
• Solid hands on experience with Java
• Strong experience with SQL ( Oracle, MySQL, Postgres)
• Strong experience in Data Structures & Algorithms
• ·Must have built end to end continuous integration and deployment infrastructure for micro services
• Strong commitment to good engineering discipline and process including code reviews and delivering unit tests in conjunction with feature delivery
• Must possess excellent communication and teamwork skills. Strong presentation and facilitation skills are required.
• Self-starter that is results focused with the ability to work independently and in teams.

GOOD TO HAVE:

• Prior experience building modular, common and scalable services
• Experience using chef, puppet or other deployment automation tools
• Experience working within a distributed engineering team including offshore
• Bonus points if you have contributed to an open source project
• Familiarity and experience with agile (scrum) development process
• Proven track record of identifying and championing new technologies that enhance the end-user experience, software quality, and developer productivity
