React Web Developer

Brief:

We are pursuing a complex set of problems that involve building for an international audience and for an industry that has largely been service-centric. As an SDE at GradRight, you’ll bring an unmatched customer-centricity to your work, with a focus on building for the long term and large scale.

You’ll be part of the Innovation Projects team at GradRight. This team works on third party integrations and adopting new tools/technologies to help build a cutting edge platform for the higher education space.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to design discussions and decisions around building scalable and modular frontend.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies and actively contribute to scaling the engineering organization from a process perspective
• Stay on top of the software engineering ecosystem and propose new technologies/methodologies that can be adopted
• Contribute to engineering hiring by conducting interviews
• Champion infrastructure as code mindset and encourage automation

Requirements:

• At least 3 years experience as an SDE
• Strong experience with at least one frontend framework, preferably vue.js
• Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns
• Passion for solving complex problems
• Really quick learner and able to dive deep into new ideas/experiments at breakneck speed
• Passion for trying out new technologies and focusing on iterative development
• Experience with team management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Good to have:

• Worked in a full-stack capacity at high growth startups
• Worked on products that addressed an international audience
• Exposure to emerging/latest technologies like blockchain, bots, AR/VR

• 5+ years of relevant experience as an individual contributor working on the frontend technologies
• Strong technical foundation and experience building user interfaces for complex applications.
• Deep proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
• Thorough understanding of React.js core principles and experience with latest React concepts like hooks, context APIs
• Experience with popular state management libraries like Redux, Flux
• Familiarity with newer specifications of ECMAScript and knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
• Experience with common front-end build tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
• Familiarity with Git
• Hands on experience with markup languages
• Background contributing best-practices and architectural leadership to front end applications
• Demonstrable understanding, and experience in dismantling large, abstract problems into smaller, workable tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate cross functionally with designers, product managers and other engineers.

We are looking for an experienced Front End Architect who is proficient with React.js. Your primary focus will be on developing efficient Front End layers using well known React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux). You will ensure that these applications are robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.

• Architecting large scale Enterprise application Front End layers for:
• Maintainability (Modularity, Testability)
• Reusability (ComponentizationCommon Functionality)
• Performance (Caching, Resource Utilization) 
• Security
• Developing new user-facing features using React.js 
• Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use 
• Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code 
• Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers 
• Leading a team of high performing team React JS developers

Primary Skills:

• React JS, Redux, HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, Jquery, SASS and Typescript
• Develop  user-facing features using ReactJS
• Architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
• Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles.
• Having Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux).
• Familiarity with newer specifications of EcmaScript.
• Knowledge of isomorphic React is a plus.
• Strong Proficiency in HTML 5, CSS 3
• Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token.
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools.
• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git, SVN, etc.
• Knowledge of functional or object-oriented programming.
• Ability to write well-documented, clean Javascript code.
• Rock solid at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts.
• Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage. 

Experience: 

10+ years of overall experience with 4+ years of mandatory experience with React JS development
