Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Software Engineer (Python) at Hubler. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications while working within a team of developers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and develop software solutions that meet client needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications using Python
• Must enjoy Coding with Passion
• Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, algorithms, data structures and design patterns
• Experience working with Django, Flask, Python-based web frameworks and Restful APIs
• Experience in database design and management with MongoDB
• Experience in distributed source control, such as Git
• Experience with scrum development methodology
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate clear communication with team members and stakeholders
• The ability to work in a collaborative team environment with willingness to share skills and knowledge

Key Responsibilities:

• Rewrite existing APIs in NodeJS.
• Remodel the APIs into Micro services-based architecture.
• Implement a caching layer wherever possible.
• Optimize the API for high performance and scalability.
• Write unit tests for API Testing.
• Automate the code testing and deployment process.

Skills Required:

1. At least 2.5 years of experience developing Backends using NodeJS — should be well versed with its asynchronous nature & event loop, and know its quirks and workarounds.
2. Excellent hands-on experience using MySQL or any other SQL Database.
3. Good knowledge of MongoDB or any other NoSQL Database.
4. Good knowledge of Redis, its data types, and their use cases.
5. Experience with graph-based databases like GraphQL and Neo4j.
6. Experience developing and deploying REST APIs.
7. Good knowledge of Unit Testing and available Test Frameworks.
8. Good understanding of advanced JS libraries and frameworks.
9. Experience with Web sockets, Service Workers, and Web Push Notifications.
10. Familiar with NodeJS profiling tools.
11. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
12. Good knowledge of creating and maintaining DevOps infrastructure on cloud platforms.
13. Should be a fast learner and a go-getter — without any fear of trying out new things Preferences.
14. Experience building a large-scale social or location-based app.

• Owning Fintech Fraud Risk products across account opening and account and activity monitoring
• Defining OKRs for success such as % approvals, bp in losses, good customer friction, precision/ recall etc.
• Thinking out of the box and identifying opportunities where we can build world class Fraud Risk solutions either in-house or via partnerships
• Working with Engineering to create risk capabilities, analytics and decisioning logic to identify, analyze and prevent suspicious activities, including but not limited to: Identity Fraud, Account Takeover/ Abuse Fraud, Transactions Risk, Unauthorized Chargeback Risk etc.
• Driving Proof of Concepts and Demos to illustrate the company's capabilities
• Working with Sales, Business Operations and Engineering to meet internal and external stakeholder needs
• Researching emerging issues impacting Fintech players and ideating on solving their digital risks through innovation
• Validating supply partnerships to be used in solutioning, where needed
• Collaborating with external partners and clients and standardizing integration strategy for the company's input/ output and client feedback loops

Desired Candidate Profile

• 5-7 years of experience in Product Management, preferably in Financial Fraud Risk
• Career concentration in Fintechs, Payments or Risk Service Providers
• Experience in developing requirements for Risk score-based rules engines, Classification and Regression models etc.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Maths, Statistics or an area of Technology
• Strong quantitative abilities, distinctive problem-solving and excellent analytics skills
• Strong organizational, communication, presentation and project management skills
• Experience with analytical/ statistical tools like SQL, SAS, Altair Knowledge Studio, R or Python preferable
• Experience in experimentation and A/B testing a plus
• Strong sense of product design and customer empathy    

• Design and Build cloud architecture/infrastructure
• Provision, maintain and administer MS Azure Cloud Environment
• Windows server administration.
• Implement and maintain cloud monitoring, auditing and network management functions.
• Optimize the processes for cloud-based data storage, backups and restores.
• Implement cloud security to protect data, applications, and infrastructure.
• Develop, maintain, and execute Configuration Management scripts.

• Experience in server hardening best practices
• Knowledge of special security arrangements like Network security, DoS Protection, OS firewall, etc
• Ability to work with software firewalls and web application firewalls
• Log management and replication to a central server
• Ability to architect a secure deployment in Azure/Aws cloud using the native abstractions and services provided by respective cloud service providers.
• Ability to conduct a self VAPT of the network and servers, so that the environments are better prepared for external audits by customers' info sec teams and/or auditors.
• Ability to use DevOps automation to setup environments from scratch and also patch them from time to time to handle the changes resulting out of various factors e.g. VAPT audits, customer requests
• Experience building solutions using MS Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of general networking concepts (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP, and firewalls).
• Experience development & maintenance of a CI/CD system.
• In-depth knowledge of build and deployment automation technologies.
• An attitude and ability to take ownership and deliver a high-quality product, on time.
• Experience of implementing DevOps
• Experience in DevOps Architectural decisions, tools selection, best practices.
• Constant research and learning on new tools and technologies in DevOps space.

Responsibilities:

• Crawl the internet/intranet for issues people are facing and convert them in to stuctured data that would be consumed downstream.
• Familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from analysis to deployment.
• Comply with coding standards and technical design.
• Adapts structured coding styles for easy review, testing, and maintainability of the code.
• Integrate the developed functionality and/or component into a fully functional system.
• Ensure unit and integration level verification plans are in place and adheres to the great quality of code at all times.
• Actively participate in troubleshooting, debugging and updating current live system.
• Verify user feedback in making the system more stable and easy.
• Work closely with analysts, designers, and other peer developers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
• Understanding of OOPS concepts, Persistence, Threading.
• Good understanding of version control system (GIT).
• Knowledgeable in data structures and algorithms.
• A background in Engineering with sound oral and written communication skills.
• 6+ years of experience working on the server-side.
• Exposure to API designing, scalable architecture, and thorough understanding of systems.
• Great database modeling skills.
• Working knowledge of Databases, both relational (such as PostgreSQL) and in-memory database (such as Redis).
• Good understanding of web stack and how all the pieces fit together.
• Experience with open-source projects.
• Experience in designing interactive applications.
