Role Description

We are looking for a passionate Senior Backend Developer.  You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs using Python.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based applications and APIs.
• Build and optimize backend systems using FastAPI/Django/Flask.
• Work with PostgreSQL/MySQL databases, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs (GraphQL experience is a plus).
• Collaborate using Git-based version control.
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure best practices in performance optimization, testing, and security.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2– 5 years of hands-on Python development experience.
• Experience in Fintech projects is an advantage
• Proven experience in FastAPI and REST API development.
• Strong database skills with PostgreSQL (preferred) and MySQL.
• Practical exposure to API integrations and third-party services.
• Experience deploying and maintaining applications in production.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services.

Technical:

• Advanced working knowledge of Magento, JavaScript/JQuery, HTML5, PHP, CSS3, and MySQL.
• Must have experience with complete eCommerce lifecycle development.
• Must have experience in modules/extensions development/customization.
• Must have experience in Theme and API integration/customization.
• Good communication skills.
• Must have knowledge of SSH, Nginx, and Apache.
• Knowledge in the GIT version is plus.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining all server-side network components.

Role: Back end developer ( Python + Flask/Django, Location Mumbai, Marol):

Must have:

• 1-4 years hands on experience in Core Python with preferably Flask framework for complex web and mobile applications. 
• Deployment experience
• Must have experience with Mongodb, MySQL and AWS
• Experience in Redis, Aerospike 
• Good command of API development and deployment ( G Unicorn, Supervisor, Jenkins) Algorithms, system design, OOPS concepts.
• Agility and flexibility to in start up environement with focus on customer, excellent communication skills, and high level of responsibility and responsiveness.
• Project management, scheduling, allocation and delivery.
• Proven experience in agile development, sprint planning and backlog management.

Good to Have:

Push team is one of the core teams at MoEngage, responsible for sending close to a billion notifications everyday to help clients engage their users better. As a member of the Push team, you will be working on developing high performance solutions to deliver personalised and context-based notifications across various channels to help achieve increased customer retention as well as customer LTV. You will also be working on designing and building features to help clients to provide customised experience for end users allowing them to have a more personalised experience at scale. • Proven experience in handling large infrastructure and distributed systems
• Familiarity with Python related technologies and frameworks like Django or Pyramid.
• Familiarity with at least one of the cloud computing infrastructure - GCP / Azure / AWS
• Familiarity with task queue frameworks like Celery or Pika is a plus.
