Job description for Python/Backend Developer

We are actively looking for backend software engineers who are passionate about building cutting-edge systems that work on the latest tech stack (Python, Django) but also help save lives. You’ll have the opportunity to learn and lead the development of several AI-enabled products and solutions within the company that are geared to help accelerate the development of new cures and to reduce the inefficiencies in how healthcare information is managed. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable APIs using Python/Django.
• Integrate third-party APIs like Facebook page API, Google Business API, and all other social APIs (10+)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Develop and maintain authentication mechanisms, including OAuth, JWT, and SSO integration with third-party providers.
• Optimize and maintain existing APIs for performance and scalability.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience:
• 2+ years of experience in Python development.
• Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Advanced proficiency in Python programming.
• Strong experience with databases (e.g., MySQL, Elasticsearch).
• Hands-on experience with SSO protocols and implementation (e.g., OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect).
• Experience integrating SSO with third-party providers.
• Proficiency in using JSON Web Tokens (JWT) for secure data exchange

• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Python and Python frameworks (Django, Flask).
• Solid understanding of web technologies (HTTP, SSL/TLS, JSON, XML).
• Familiarity with API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger, Postman).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Expertise in authentication and authorization methods.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
• Experience in writing unit tests for code to ensure reliability and maintainability

As an engineering team member, you will :

- Work collaboratively with product, customer support and DevOps team to build, enhance, maintain, deploy and operate our systems. 

- Continuously automate operational processes to improve efficiencies and productivity and enhance customer experience 

- Work closely with the architect to continuously refactor the system architecture and design to meet the changing landscape triggered by technology changes and business growth 

- Work with the DevOps team to build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations. 

- Ensure that development processes and deliverables always adhere to the mandates laid down for various certifications (PCI and ISO 27001 in particular)

Skills required :

- Pre-requisites : Competent in Java, database, HTML, Javascript, CSS 

- Should be passionate about technology and ready to deep dive into programming 

- Should have sound expertise of writing testable code and appreciate defect free coding 

- Should be willing to handle Ops automation and production support 

- Should be able to reason/argue/discuss/suggest solutions and alternatives

- Should be able to decipher the core problem to be solved during discussions with product team and/or customers 

- Should have good communication skills and experience working in teams

- Knowledge of Python will be an added advantage

- Experience of working in financial domain will help but not a necessity

• 2 - 3 yrs of experience in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Rest API, and MySQL.

• Good understanding of Object-oriented concepts, Functional programming and Design Patterns.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to articulate complex ideas in written, spoken and visual language
• Bachelor in engineering preferably from a leading institute across the globe.

The ideal candidate is a highly resourceful and innovative developer with extensive experience in the layout, design and coding of websites specifically in PHP Laravel. You must also possess a strong knowledge of web application development using PHP programming language and MySQL Server databases.
