Job Description

• Designing and implementing new features and functionality
• Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
• Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
• Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working website.
• Collaborate with the frontend team, and enable connectors with WordPress REST API and other tech platforms

Requirements

Relevant experience

• 2-4 years’ experience in authoring and developing for CMS’s including but not limited to WordPress

Required qualification

• University degree or equivalent diploma in technology and computer science.

Essential skills

• Good Overall knowledge of PHP
• Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
• Knowing the nuances of WordPress Themes – Installation and Configuration
• Knowing the nuances of WordPress Plugins with good coverage of which plugin is best suited for a particular requirement, and confidence to research plugins as well
• Knowledge of WP Caching, WP Query Object and WP Database Structure
• Knowledge of Knowledge of WordPress Scalability
• Knowing the nuances of WordPress editor with good coverage of which editor is best suited for a particular requirement, and confidence to research plugins as well
• Hands On Experience with Gutenberg Editor and Blocks
• Awareness of the WP Library, and Architectural Concepts is a must
• Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
• Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
• Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
• Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
• Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working Wordpress pages
• Willingness to quickly learn new frameworks, changing theme market with ready updates on not just WordPress, but also PHP.

Nice to Have

• It would be good to have exposure to multiple CMSs like Shopify, Magento
• It would be good to have the ability to develop WordPress Plugins and Themes From scratch
• Experience on at least one PHP Framework (CodeIgniter, Laravel, YII)
• Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial)
• Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
• Knowledge of WordPress REST API
• Knowledge of WooCommerce

• 4+ years of software development experience
• Essential skills: PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX
• Code Ignitor and Laravel development experience a big plus
• Advanced knowledge of SQL is important
• Should be able to analyze requirement and design robust system
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

Responsibilities

• Server Side Programming Languages: PHP & Laravel (MUST)
• Framework: Express, Sails.js, Laravel, Node.js .
• Web Server technologies: Apache, Nginx.
• Database creation and integration: MySQL (MUST), PostgreSQL, MongoDb.
• Cloud computing integration e. g., public cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, or private cloud environments.
• Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic.
• Optimisation of the application for maximum speed and scalability.
• Implementation of security and data protection.
• Design and implementation of data storage solutions.
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.
• Setup and administration of backups.
• Management of hosting environment, including database administration and scaling an application to support load changes

    Requirements

• Knowledge of presenting data in different formats
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science with minimum 5+ years of industry experience.
• Technical depth across multiple languages.
• Able to meet deadlines.
• Leadership experience.
• Strong communications skills.
• Proficient in writing REST APIs.
