Junior PHP Developer (Full-Time)

We’re hiring a Junior PHP Developer at Websites.co.in, a platform where small businesses create their website in 2 minutes.

Your role

• Develop and maintain backend logic using PHP (Laravel or Core PHP)
• Write clean, reusable, and efficient code
• Work with MySQL databases (queries, joins, optimization)
• Integrate REST APIs and troubleshoot backend issues
• Collaborate with frontend, QA, and product teams for feature implementation
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities
• Debug production issues and provide quick fixes

What we expect

• Hands-on development experience with PHP (mandatory)
• Strong knowledge of MySQL, queries, and database structures
• Understanding of MVC architecture (Laravel preferred)
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Familiarity with Git version control
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to take ownership
• 0–3.5 years of experience (freshers with strong projects are welcome)

Good to have

• Experience working with APIs, JSON, cURL
• Understanding of server basics (Linux, Apache, hosting environments)

Roles & Responsibilities -

● Develop new user-facing features.

● Work alongside product to understand our requirements, and design, develop and iterate, think through the complex architecture.

● Writing clean, reusable, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code.

● Encourage innovation and efficiency improvements to ensure processes are productive

● Ensure the training and mentoring of the team members

● Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed.

● Research and apply new technologies, techniques, and best practices.

Requirements -

• Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or a related field

• 5 - 10 years of prior relevant experience

• Experience with web technologies and microservices architecture

• Java, Spring framework

• MySQL, Mongo, Solr, Redis,

• Kubernetes, Docker

• Excellent teamwork skills, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple tasks.

• Experience with API Design, ability to architect and implement an intuitive customer and third-party integration story • Ability to think and analyze both breadth-wise (client, server, DB, control flow) and depth-wise (threads, sessions, space-time complexity) while designing and implementing services

• Exceptional design and architectural skills

• Experience of cloud providers/platforms like GCP and AWS

You have 3 to 14 yrs of software engineering & product delivery experience with strong

background in datastructures & algorithms

• You’ve proven software development credentials having successfully built complex

products

• You are experienced with one or more general programming languages (e.g. Java, C/C++,

Go). Ability to learn other coding languages as needed.

• You’ve proven software development credentials having successfully built complex

products

• You have a strong foundation in the fundamentals of computer science, with familiarity in

data structures, algorithms and a strong command of object-oriented principles.

• You have experience in one or more of the following areas: Server Backend, Distributed

and Parallel Systems, Full Stack Development (frontend and backend), Scalable Enterprise

Platforms and Applications, Application Security and Incident Management, Android,

iOS, and Machine Learning.

• You have a spark that separates you from the crowd and ability to think out of the box and

on your feet

• You possess multi-dimensional skills that make you a valuable co-worker in a fast,

changing and ambiguous environment

• You have the ability to learn other coding languages as needed real quick

• You are comfortable in working with a team that deals with ambiguity every day

3+ years of experience developing Backends using NodeJS. Should be well versed with its asynchronous nature, event loop, promises, and callbacks.

Node expressProficient in Node.js and working knowledge of JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, HTML, CSS, and frameworks ( React.js)

Experience in Node JS MVC framework and Rest API frameworks like Express.

Experience developing desktops.

Experience in Mongo DB.

Familiarity with using AWS components.

Postman for documenting/testing APIs.
