PHP Developer

WeMakeScholars is an organization funded and supported by the Ministry of IT, Government of India under the 'Digital India Campaign'. We offer international education finance via scholarships and education loans, to study abroad aspirants. We are currently a 220 members team. Last financial year, we disbursed 2200 Cr in education loans to 8300 students across India.

We are looking for a PHP Developer who is keen to work in a startup environment esp. a product-based company. 

Job Overview

We are hiring developers (from 0 to 10 experience) with relevant knowledge and experience with the development and deployment of large-scale cloud-native enterprise systems on PHP, REST APIs, Node Js, Flutter, AWS & MySql. 

About Tech Department:

• Our internal tech team is responsible for end-to-end in-house tech support which includes and is not limited to design, development & deployment. 
• We are continuously developing and improvising our products to enhance customer and team experience.
• As we are in the Fintech space, our team has to ensure the database security of the application.

Job Summary 

• Participate in the full development life cycle, working within broadly defined parameters including design, development, testing, and maintenance of the existing application with minimal supervision.
• Work on optimization and performance improvement activities. Instrument and test performance metrics.
• Participate in peer-to-peer code reviews to improve the quality and maintenance of the codebase.
• Collaboration with multiple internal/external stakeholders such as product, business, DBA, and Dev Ops.
• Design and implement APIs for web/mobile (both Android & iOS) applications.
• To be available on call for the projects or features developed by you. Things break, and you will be responsible to fix it when it does.

Experience & Skills Required

• 2+ years of experience (we are hiring freshers too for junior positions)
• Hands-on experience and knowledge of engineering end-to-end systems.
• Understanding of the complete software development life cycle, including coding standards, and code reviews.
• Familiarity with multiple software development practices and tools
• Ability to write clean, modular, and loosely coupled code by the use of design patterns.
• Proficiency in the implementation of algorithms and the use of advanced data structures to solve problems in computing.
• A solid foundation and implementing principles of computer science are a must. Ex: object-oriented programming, concurrency, fundamentals of computer science, SQL databases. 

Job responsibility The Lead Developer contributes, to create a customer’s solution, in the building phase of the software development lifecycle. The Software Engineer is responsible for performing the detailed design of application and technical architecture components and classes in accordance to the specification provided by the Solution Architect, for coding of SW components, and for the early testing phases (component testing), and system testing support

Hands on experience in Java, Python, scripting
- Design, implement, deploy and support web-based applications and web services using server technologies stacks that include Java, MySQL
- Experience in Java/J2EE using web frameworks Play or Spring boot, REST API Development and ORM (JPA, Hibernate eBean etc.)
- In depth knowledge of Design patterns and Data structures
- Databases - MySQL, Oracle, SQL
- Solid understanding of concepts like Web Services, SOA, REST APIs, Message Queue, Caching, Distributed/Scalable Architecture
- Secure application development best practices, such as OWASP
- Document and maintain all design documents and involve in review process.
- Experienced problem solving and debugging skills.
- Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in Agile methodology is added advantage
- Knowledge of Cloud Knowledge /Azure
- Must know about Unix knowledge

You have 3 to 14 yrs of software engineering & product delivery experience with strong

background in datastructures & algorithms

iOS, and Machine Learning.

• You possess multi-dimensional skills that make you a valuable co-worker in a fast,

• You have the ability to learn other coding languages as needed real quick

• You are comfortable in working with a team that deals with ambiguity every day

Role and Responsibilities:

• Using Laravel for designing and creating web apps and services
• Discussing the aims of the project with our team of developers
• Debugging and troubleshooting issues
• Sharing ideas and working on completing projects with the front-end and back-end teams
• Working towards the smooth, effortless running of integrations
• Implementing client feedback to scale projects
• Ensuring web apps are maintained
• Implementing relevant security measures according to the required standard
• Building PHP modules that are efficient
• Writing modular codes that are secure
• Testing PHP modules
• Contributing to database maintenance
• Contributing to database design

Experience Required:

• The candidate must at least have a total experience of 1 Year - 3 years in the relevant field.
• The candidate must have basic knowledge regarding data structure and algorithm.
• We require people with keen logistics skills.
• The candidate must be strong with basics and their concepts must be clear enough to deal with all sorts of delusions.

• The job-role of a PHP(Laravel) developer is open only for candidates residing in Indore or are willing to relocate to Indore.

• Support existing code of PHP webserver
• Proficient in PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, and MySQL
• Hands-on any PHP-based framework/CMS like Laravel, CakePHP, Zend, CodeIgnitor, Yii.
• Must write efficient code with documentation.
• Any Database: MySQL, MongoDB, NoSQL DBs, postgresql.
• Has experience debugging code.
• Analysis of current DB structure and change table structures as and when required
• Implementation of visual representation of DB data in the form of charts and graphs
• The eventual implementation of a new UI theme with customizations such as drop-down menu data, as well as linking the UI theme front-end with the back-end MySQL
• Implementation of new PHP web services for functions such as analytics, and new modules to existing services
• Ensure cross-platform compatibility of information retrieved from web services on
• Android and iOS platforms, in terms of Push Notifications, platform-specific issues, etc.
• Implementation of SSL security to all web services, logins, and API calls
• Familiar with XMPP would be a plus point.
