MERN Stack Developer

Role Overview

At Cubic Transportation Systems, the P3 Senior Software Engineer (MERN Stack) is a strong full-stack individual contributor responsible for building and maintaining reliable, scalable applications that support mission-critical transportation platforms used globally.

This role focuses on feature ownership, execution excellence, and high-quality delivery within established architectural patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full-stack applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js
• Build responsive and accessible React-based user interfaces
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend services
• Own assigned features end-to-end, from development to production support
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code
• Participate actively in code reviews and design discussions
• Debug and resolve issues across frontend, backend, and database layers
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and System Engineering teams for releases

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–8 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience with React (hooks, component architecture, state management)
• Solid backend experience using Node.js and Express.js
• Experience with MongoDB (schema design, queries, basic performance tuning)
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and RBAC
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows

Job Description

• Independently own one or more multiple modules, which includes: requirement analysis, design, development, maintenance & support
• Write extensive, efficient code to address complex modules and that handles interaction between multiple components.
• Rapidly iterate to add new functionalities and solves complex problems with simple and intuitive solutions
• Produce architecture with clean interfaces, that are efficient and scalable
• Participate and contribute to architectural discussions
• Perform design and code reviews
• Perform technical feasibility and trade off studies & guides others to perform these studies
• Solve production issues. Investigate and provide solutions to minimize the business impact due to outage
• Continuously improve performance metrics of modules you own.
• Collaborate effectively across teams to solve problems, execute and deliver results

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant industry experience in MERN stack
• A deep understanding of JavaScript
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with Unit and Integration tests
• Experience with CI/CD
• Experience with MathJax/Latex
• Experience with large scale video streaming

Senior Fullstack (MERN) Developer - Tribe

We’re looking for a Full Stack developer who will take a key role on our team. Our Full Stack developer must have knowledge in all stages of software development. You’ll be working alongside other engineers and developers, collaborating on the various layers of the infrastructure for our platform

• Quick Learner and good at problem solving
• 2 - 5 years of experience in developing backend and frontend applications
• Good understanding and strong in data structures and algorithms
• Design overall architecture of application including frontend and backend.
• Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications.
• Developing front end website architecture.
• Developing back-end website applications including designing and developing APIs.
• Creating servers and databases for functionality.
• Ensuring cross-platform optimization for mobile phones.
• Ensuring responsiveness of applications.
• Working alongside graphic designers for web design features.
• Seeing through a project from conception to finished product.
• Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.

Technical Skills : Node.js, Restful, Express, React.js, Redux, MongoDb

• Previous working experience as a MEAN/MERN Stack Developer for at least 2 years.
• In depth knowledge of React.js, Angular.js, NodeJS, ExpressJS.
• Experience implementing applications using React.js and Angular.js.
• Experience creating front end applications using HTML, React and Angular.
• Hands on experience with JavaScript Development on both client and server-side
