Job Title : Senior Software Engineer

Location : Gurugram (Full-time)

Job Description :

• We are looking for a skilled and experienced Java Engineer to join our dynamic team.
• The ideal candidate will have 4 to 10 Years of hands-on experience in software development, with a proven experience as Java Developer with a strong focus on Spring and Spring Boot, Relational Databases and AWS technologies.
• Strong understanding of monolithic & microservices architecture. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our applications.
• Ensuring their performance, quality and responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities :

● Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java, Spring and Spring Boot.

● Develop and manage relational databases. Should be able to write complex SQL queries.

● Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.

● Have strong debugging skills to identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues.

● Deploy, manage, and scale applications on AWS.

● Conduct code reviews and integration testing to ensure software quality and reliability.

● Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

● Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications :

● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

● 4 to 10 Years of experience in software development.

● Proficient in Java 8+, Spring and Spring Boot.

● Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL or other relational databases.

● Experience with microservices architecture.

● Understanding of Rest API design and development.

● Hands on experience with Unit Testing frameworks such as Junit, Mockito.

● Experience with version control systems such as Git.

● Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.

● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

● Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

● Strong knowledge of AWS services and best practices.

● Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

Team Leadership and Management:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of backend developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
• Promote a shared vision for the team, ensuring alignment with business goals and organizational objectives.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and create opportunities for team members’ professional growth.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration between development teams, designers, and product managers to deliver seamless and high-quality software.

Technical Strategy and Execution:

• Define and drive architectural decisions for both backend and frontend systems,ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Advocate and implement best practices in software development, including coding standards, test-driven development (TDD), and peer code reviews.
• Encourage the adoption of Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI-driven tools to optimize development and testing workflows.
• Provide technical direction on backend development using modern frameworks and languages, as well as frontend development using React, Angular, or Svelte.

Process and Quality Management:

• Ensure robust integration between backend APIs and frontend systems for seamless user experiences.
• Establish and enforce coding, testing, and deployment standards for both backend and frontend teams.
• Implement and optimize automated testing frameworks for backend and UI layers to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Monitor system performance and application stability, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices for efficient and reliable delivery cycles.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Act as a bridge between engineering teams, business stakeholders, and leadership, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
• Translate complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions and guide teams through their implementation.
• Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and innovations to stakeholders.

Innovation and Exploration:

• Stay updated on advancements in Large Language Models (LLMs) and integrate them into development and quality assurance workflows where applicable.
• Encourage the exploration of cutting-edge technologies, tools, and frameworks for both backend and frontend development.
• Champion the use of AI and machine learning tools for performance optimization, automated testing, and enhanced developer productivity.

Skills & Qualifications:

Must-Have Skills:

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role.
• Strong technical background in backend technologies (e.g., Java, Spring Framework).
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker.
• Solid knowledge of Agile methodologies, TDD, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Expertise in integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI-powered tools into development workflows.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks for both backend (e.g., JUnit, Postman) and frontend (e.g., Playwright).
• Understanding of DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
• Exposure to AI/ML frameworks and libraries for enhancing application features and team efficiency.

Requirements:

·  Candidates must have substantial applicable IT experience, extensive development, programming experience in Core Java, J2ee, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Webservices using Restful, any DB (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL server).

·  Preferably the candidate must have worked in development projects and must have experience in Java / J2ee design patterns.

·  Experience in AWS, Azure will be an added advantage.

·  Candidate must have good experience in Agile methodology.

Roles and Responsibilities;-

• Include managing Java/Java EE application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.
• Designing, developing and delivering high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems

Framework required – spring boot, Hibernate
Skills - Should have knowledge of JPA, js, Ajax

• Challenge technical decisions and web service designs and provide inputs for improvement
• Provide qualified code (tested and documented)
• Fix issues that arise from testing/customers
• Create or update all the relevant and required technical documents (design, architecture, )
• Follow quality development rules and recommendations (unitary test, change management, build management, Software factory…)
• Perform code reviews and suggest improvements
• Work in Agile mode and Test Driven development process
• Collaborate and work closely with all stakeholders

• Hardcore developers who can write performance-based quality code and drive code
• Preferred: Java1.8, Junit, Springboot, Dropwizard, RabbitMQ, Jenkins jobs, NoSQL DB (MongoDB, Neo4j), Docker, and DevOps (Optional: Python, AWS)
• Knowledge about Secure coding guidelines, Sonarqube, Configuration Management (Perforce), Jira
• MUST have experience in Scrum/Agile SDLC
• Value Add – experience on the server side in IPTV/OTT/STB

• 8+ years of experience building Web applications, APIs, Service based platforms
• Excellent command on Java/J2EE and/or Spring/Hibernate
• Strong command over REST based services and micro-services
• Good knowledge of databases such as MySQL
• Good knowledge of creating and maintaining Dev ops infrastructure on AWS or similar platforms
• Good knowledge of code repo software such as git and build management tools
