Software Development Engineer - I (Backend)

What does the team do?

At NHPL Product Security, we will focus on strengthening the safety, reliability, and scalability of systems trusted by 300k+ daily users. As a team, we will work closely across functions to protect our platforms, prevent misuse, and continuously improve system resilience. We will take ownership of critical security initiatives, contribute to key design decisions, and build a strong foundation for long-term product security and growth.

What We’re Looking For:

Required:

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in Python or Go (Flask, FastAPI, Beego, Gin, etc.)
• Experience building and securing REST APIs
• Strong understanding of SSL/TLS and cryptography basics (AES, RSA, HMAC, SHA, Base64)
• Working knowledge of AWS or GCP basics (roles, logs, scaling, DNS)
• Comfortable with Linux, log analysis, and networking fundamentals (OSI model, TCP/UDP, ports, proxies)

Good to Have:

• Exposure to HLS/DASH streaming
• Experience with mitmproxy or packet inspection tools (Wireshark, eBPF, etc.)
• Familiarity with CDN

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Build and secure systems used by 300k+ doctors daily
• Work on large-scale streaming infrastructure
• Implement secure playback flows (tokenization, DRM, encryption)
• Protect APIs from scraping, replay, and abuse (bots)
• Analyze logs and improve system security and reliability
• Contribute to high-scale VOD systems

Growth Path:

• Build deep expertise in streaming security

• Contribute to architecture and security design decisions
• Grow into DevSecOps → Senior Security Engineer → System Security Architect

• Binding of UI elements to JavaScript object models
• Creating RESTful services with Node.js
• MERN stack developer must have proven experience in front & back-end development
• Work in a cross-functional team to deliver a complete user experience
• Developer must expertise into MongoDB, Express, Node.js, & React.
• Create Unit and Integration tests to ensure the quality of code
• MERN full stack developer must have the ability to wear many hats and learn new technologies quickly
• Understanding & proficiency in REST APIs.
• MERN stack developer should know Git Repository and Jira.
• Integration of data storage solutions [RDBMS, NoSQL DB]
• Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions
• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
• Create security and data protection settings
• Write technical documentation
• Work with data scientists and analysts to improve software

Experience: 
- 4-10 years of Full Stack Application development experience is must. 
- Deep understanding of client side development, coding in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ES6, and jQuery. 
- Strong experience using a client side MVC framework such as NodeJS, React JS, NextJS and Redux.
- Top notch programming skills and write code for robust software design. 
- Experience in responsive design, cross browser compatibility and website performance. 
- Experience in object oriented design skills. 
- Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills. 
- Good understanding of how browsers and DOM work. 
- Experience with Git/Bitbucket. 
- Experience with handling Services, RESTful, APIs. 
 
Responsibilities : 
- To work with a cross-functional software development team on highly visible strategic projects as an expert level individual contributor to the coding tasks assigned. 
- Responsible for development of highly responsive, web based UI in a flexible and well-structured frontend architecture. 
- Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON 
- Experience with third party libraries and APIs 
- Produce well designed efficient code in a timely manner to meet delivery timescales/milestones. 
- Mentor other developers on software best practices technical guidance and help grow their software development skill sets.
