Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Lead Python/Django Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead the development of web applications, ensuring they meet high standards of performance, security, and maintainability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative solutions that drive our business forward.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of developers, ensuring best practices in coding, design, and architecture.

Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Python and Django.

Write clean, efficient, and reusable code that adheres to industry best practices.

Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance application functionality

Design scalable and robust backend architectures that support the company's growth and product evolution.

Work closely with front-end developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration of all components.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for code, system architecture, and processes.

Must Have Skills:

3+ years of experience in Python and Django development.

Proven experience leading development teams and managing projects.

Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.

Experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar.

Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git).

Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker) is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Our backend (NodeJS) team is passionate about technology, and we love building scalable web and mobile solutions keeping performance in mind. We're looking for a full stack developer that has experience developing a variety of Web Apps and REST API using the NodeJS stack. 

(Along with strong backend expertise, needs good understanding on frontend tech stack to give support to frontend developer) 

Role + Responsibilities:   

• Review PR’s and provide appropriate comments. 
• Help team in debugging the issues and provide proper solution. 
• Participate in architecture, design and sprint planning of the projects. 
• Write reusable, testable, maintainable and scalable code with Unit Testing. 
• Implementation of security and data protection throughout the project. 
• Implementation on Design Patterns like TDD & BDD. 

Person Specification and Qualifications: 

• Fluency in written and verbal communication. 
• Experience developing highly scalable services and APIs in multiple protocols. 
• Knowledge of data modelling and database performance optimization in SQL & No SQL databases. 
• Must have worked with PostgreSQL and MongoDB using TypeORM, Sequalize or Knex. 
• Strong experience with core concepts of JS & TS. 
• Experience working with Frameworks like NestJS, LoopBack, Express, and other Framework in Typescript. 
• Must have worked with unit testing libraries like Jest, Mocha and Chai. 
• Good knowledge of code versioning (git or bitbucket).                    
• Hands on experience with Docker for building micro service. 

Plus, points if you're familiar with the following:  

• Experience with deployment and CI/CD.                
• Knowledge of GraphQL and its libraries like Apollo and Prisma. 
• Knowledge of SDK integration (social media SDK like Facebook, Google, etc. and Cloud services like AWS, Azure and Google). 
• Good experience with Linux commands and basic server configuration. 
• Knowledge of document, key/value or other non-relational database systems such as Elastic Search, Redis, DynamoDB. 
• Experience with queuing protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Rewrite existing APIs in NodeJS.
• Remodel the APIs into Micro services-based architecture.
• Implement a caching layer wherever possible.
• Optimize the API for high performance and scalability.
• Write unit tests for API Testing.
• Automate the code testing and deployment process.

Skills Required:

1. At least 3 years of experience developing Backends using NodeJS — should be well versed with its asynchronous nature & event loop, and know its quirks and workarounds.
2. Excellent hands-on experience using MySQL or any other SQL Database.
3. Good knowledge of MongoDB or any other NoSQL Database.
4. Good knowledge of Redis, its data types, and their use cases.
5. Experience with graph-based databases like GraphQL and Neo4j.
6. Experience developing and deploying REST APIs.
7. Good knowledge of Unit Testing and available Test Frameworks.
8. Good understanding of advanced JS libraries and frameworks.
9. Experience with Web sockets, Service Workers, and Web Push Notifications.
10. Familiar with NodeJS profiling tools.
11. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
12. Good knowledge of creating and maintaining DevOps infrastructure on cloud platforms.
13. Should be a fast learner and a go-getter — without any fear of trying out new things Preferences.
14. Experience building a large-scale social or location-based app.

Requirement:

1. Node Js min 2 yrs exp.
2. Database - MONGO, SQL, etc. min 2yrs experience with these.

3. Caching - REDIS, MEMCACHED etc

4. Message Queues - RABBIT MQ, Kafka, etc.

About the role: 

You’ll be an early engineer in a newly formed engineering team. This is a unique opportunity for you to learn, build, demonstrate, and subsequently own diverse components of our tech stack and evolve as we scale our business. As a core engineer in a small team, the role demands a high degree of self-drive and ownership, on a path to achieving outsized impact.

Your Primary Responsibility Will Be:

To Advance Our Integrated Data Capture And Insights Platform (Ruby/React/PostgreSQL) And Associated Tooling (Python)

Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

• Work with a diverse multidisciplinary team across Engineering, Product & Operations, to translate product specs into clean, functional, production-ready code.
• Participate actively in defining of the systems architecture vision to better support our team’s needs
• Grow our technical capacity by mentoring other engineers and interviewing candidates
• Collaborate with team members to identify systems, practices & technologies that suit our needs the best
• Seek, learn, adopt and advocate industry best practices. Contribute towards the engineering culture
• Troubleshooting coding problems quickly and efficiently to ensure a productive workplace

Minimum Qualification:

• At least 4+ years of experience in software engineering building SaaS platforms, products and APIs
• At least 1+ years in your current role as a senior engineer
• Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails (primary) and Python (additional)
• Strong proficiency in data modelling, RDBMS (Postgres preferred) and NoSQL databases.
• Proficient in software design, modularity, testability and software quality
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Additional desired qualifications:

• Preferred prior experience in the following stack: Python, Ruby On Rails, React, Postgres, AWS
• Experience in working on natural language processing, and ML for text and audio.
• Fast self-learner, with aptitude and interest in learn new technologies, languages & frameworks
• Experience working on data-pipelines, and data transformation systems.
• Experience setting up, managing and ensuring best practices on public clouds like AWS, GCP, or Azure (we use AWS)
