Job Title: Deployment Lead (Python, Linux, AWS) 

Location: Coimbatore

Overview 

We are seeking an experienced Deployment Lead to oversee the end-to-end deployment lifecycle of our applications and services. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Python, strong Linux administration skills, and hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with engineering, DevOps, QA, and product teams to ensure reliable, repeatable, and scalable deployments across multiple environments. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead and manage deployment activities for all application releases across development, staging, and production environments. 
• Develop and maintain deployment automation, scripts, and tools using Python and shell scripting. 
• Own and optimize CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline). 
• Oversee Linux server administration, including configuration, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and security hardening. 
• Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, RDS, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation/Terraform). 
• Ensure robust monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK. 
• Collaborate with developers to improve code readiness for deployment and production reliability. 
• Manage environment configurations and ensure consistency and version control across environments. 
• Lead incident response during production issues; conduct root-cause analysis and implement long-term fixes. 
• Establish and enforce best practices for deployment, configuration management, and operational excellence. 

Required Skills & Qualifications 

• 5+ years of experience in deployment engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering roles. 
• Strong proficiency in Python for automation and tooling. 
• Advanced experience with Linux systems administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, Amazon Linux). 
• Hands-on work with AWS cloud services and infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation or Terraform). 
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes. 
• Strong understanding of CI/CD tools and automated deployment strategies. 
• Familiarity with networking concepts: DNS, load balancers, VPCs, firewalls, VPN, and routing. 
• Expertise with monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions. 
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; able to lead troubleshooting efforts. 
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Your profile

• You have a track record in building web applications in agile environments.
• +3 years experience with any enterprise technology like Javascript and Node.js or similar
• You have experience using any frontend frameworks like Vue.js, React or Angular
• You have experience in test-driven development 
• You have very good knowledge of Git, development workflow automation and CI. Continuous Delivery is in our DNA.
• You have an appreciation for great user experience as much as for awesome tech architecture
• You are great at communicating with people, motivating everyone and getting the whole team on the same page
• Fluency in English

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our team who will be part of our new innovations team.

Requirements:

1. Strong knowledge of Django, Django Rest Framework and their design principles.
2. Strong knowledge of Django ORM, should be able to leverage it to write complex and optimized queries (E.x Q queries, Case, When, Select related, prefetch related, Subqueries, Annotations, Aggregations, Filtering, etc.) .
3. Should be able to override DRF serializers, filters and viewsets completely according to needs.
4. Should have good experience in Class Based Views to write the backend API’s.
5. Sound knowledge of database design patterns and modelling them to Django models.
6. Sound knowledge of how to write test cases for the APIs.
7. Should be able to write optimized pythonic code adhering to python PEP standards.
8. Strong knowledge of python packaging and how to architect a code base that should be easily scalable and not get cluttered.
9. Strong knowledge of REST API design patterns.
10. Ability to write RAW sql queries and further database level coding will be a plus.
11. Good Understanding of python’s asyncio, threading and multiprocessing library, their benefits and limitations along with their appropriate use cases.
12. Hands on knowledge of celery and its corresponding message broker such as RabbitMQ, Redis, etc.
13. Experience with building a CDC(Change Data Capture) pipeline will be a plus.
14. Experience with Apache Kafka, Kafka connect and Debezium will be a plus.
15. Experience with open source will be a plus.
16. Good knowledge of Algorithms and data structures.

Responsibilities:

1. Understand the ins and out of existing codebase and have a good grasp over it.
2. Write clean, stable and scalable code.
3. Write unit test cases for the APIs.
4. Do whitebox and blackbox testing for your own code and as well as others if required.
5. Understand and implement fast prototype solutions for the business needs.

• 5 years experience with the Django framework
• Experience with building APIs (REST or GraphQL) 
• Strong Troubleshooting and debugging skills
• React.js knowledge would be an added bonus 
• Understanding on how to use a database like Postgres (prefered choice), SQLite, MongoDB, MySQL.
• Sound knowledge of object-oriented design and analysis.
• A strong passion for writing simple, clean and efficient code.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools Git.

Experience:

• Min 5 year experience
• Startup experience is a must. 

Location:

• Remote developer

Timings:

• 40 hours a week but with 4 hours a day overlapping with client timezone.  Typically clients are in California PST Timezone.

Experience or Skills Required:

• B.Tech or Advanced degree in Computer Science with 6-12 years of industry experience in product based companies.
• Proficiency with Basic libraries for machine learning such as scikit-learn and pandas
• Experience in building solutions based on Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, K Nearest neighbor, SVM, Random Forest, Decision Trees.
• Strong experience with at least one of programming languages: Python, Java, Vertx, Golang
• Strong experience in building Server side reusable components based on Microservices or Distributed Architecture.
• Solid coding skills with ability to lead teams in identifying clearing tech debts for large scale code base.
• Good understanding & experience in improving performance of scalable and real time responsive applications.
• Excellent Problem Solving skills and an aptitude to approach problems from first principles and build solutions for those.
• Must have excellent communication (verbal & written), interpersonal, leadership, and problem solving skills.
• Must be able to work independently and enjoy working at a fast paced start-up environment
