Mercer Talent Enterprise is hiring for experienced full stack Ruby on Rails developers.

As a Senior Ruby On Rails Engineer, you'll work on a closely-knit team with a technology stack built on top of Ruby on Rails 7.x. We like to work with modern technologies, always try to do what is best for the customer and put more value on teamwork than rock stars and cowboys.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
• Lead the technical design and development of major platform components to help our technology platform scale with our explosive user growth.
• Actively promote code quality, organization and automatization
• Build new features to improve psychometric assessments
• Shape our product roadmaps by being data-driven and creative
• Use and promote TDD best practices
• Pair program with team members of different experiences
• Be a mentor when you have the expertise / Be a student when someone else does

Required Experience or Skills

• 5+ years experience with Ruby on Rails
• Experience working with Postgres database
• Expert knowledge of feature/end-to-end and unit tests
• TDD experience with RSpec and Capybara
• Strong JavaScript skills
• Strong HTML / CSS 3 skills
• Experience working with a Continuous Integration environment (CircleCI, Github Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
• Understanding and commitment to Agile processes
• Great communication, particularly in explaining your coding processes, suggestions for best practices, and identifying ways to improve the team's coding quality

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience developing with React / Redux
• Experience developing with TypeScript
• Working knowledge with Docker

What you’ll be doing

• Lead the development of our across all phases of software and web development including ideation, prototyping, design, production, and maintenance.
• Work closely with founders and internal/external stakeholders to build products, tools, and services from scratch and deliver high-quality software solutions.

Skills & Qualities we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• 4-7 years of experience as a full-stack developer (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers) at a fast-paced, preferably early / growth stage start-up.
• Proficient with frontend technologies - HTML, CSS, JavaScript & ReactJS/VueJS.
• Proficient with backend technologies - Java/NodeJs/Golang/Python/Ruby.
• Hands-on experience working with any cloud AWS/GCP/Azure/DigitalOcean.
• Knowledge of codebases and version control systems (Git).
• Well-versed with SQL database design & RDBMS concepts.
• Strong arithmetic reasoning, logical and analytical thinking skills.
• Strong knowledge of code quality maintenance and performance analysis.

About the role:

We are looking for a PHP developer, responsible for the development and maintenance of the Websites, CMSs, Services, APIs and MySQL databases (writing procedures and complex queries). The developer will be a part of a full-stack team of engineers.

You will be responsible for -

● Hands on experience in Core PHP and MySQL Database.

● Good experience of relational databases, database keys and joins.

● Clear understanding of Object Oriented Programming, CSS, HTML layout.

● Strong experience in JavaScript, Ajax, Jquery and secure REST API.

● Strong skills in JSON parsing as well as XML for fetching data into the application

● Good knowledge of the application deployment process using FTP.

● Basic knowledge of Unix Command / environment

● Should be able write the code independently.

● Knowledge of PHP frameworks and CMS.

● Candidate should be able to follow Best Practices as they apply to coding Languages

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement features.

● Unit-test code for robustness, including use cases, usability, and general reliability.

● Identify and correct bottlenecks, work on bug fixing and improving application

performance

● Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize

development efficiency

● Must have specific experience and ability to understand business requirements and

translate them into technical / coding requirements.

● Proficient in understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

● Must have strong communication skills and be able to think out of the box to

implement defined business logic with minimal impact and revisions.

● Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.
