Position Overview :

As an Intermediate Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance and scalable applications for Membership, Marketing, and Map services. Your role involves coding, unit testing, and building applications to meet the needs of millions of Sam's members. You should be intellectually curious, passionate about technology, and a supportive team player.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, code, and test scalable applications in Java and React.

- Ensure high performance and maintainability of applications.

- Participate in peer code reviews and support team deliverables.

- Manage applications to meet engineering and operational excellence criteria.

- Collaborate with team members to align efforts with business needs.

Required Skills and Experience :

- Java : Experience with Java 8 or above, including lambda functions and streams.

- React : Proficiency in React, including tools like Flux, Flow, and Redux.

- Testing : Strong in writing modular and testable code with frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, and Mock MVC.

- Front-End : In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and React fundamentals.

- Micro-Services : Experience with micro-services architecture and distributed systems.

- Spring Boot : Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and related technologies.

- Databases : Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cosmos DB).

- Caching : Knowledge of caching technologies like Redis or Memcached.

- Monitoring : Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Splunk.

- CI/CD : Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, Maven, and Gradle.

- Containerization : Experience with Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.

- Cloud Platforms : Experience with Azure, GCP, or similar public cloud platforms.

- Performance Testing: Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter is a plus.

- Retail Domain Knowledge : Good understanding of the retail domain is beneficial.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

- 7+ years of experience in software engineering or a related field.

As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for Application Engineering capability, designing and developing web applications, and managing small teams of App engineers In doing so, you will closely collaborate with program leads and technology architects across global locations.

More specifically, you might:

• Collaborate with business analysts and technical managers to understand functional, and non-functional requirements, and scope.
• Design and develop multi-tier, cloud-native, high-performance, and scalable solutions
• Indulge in applying benchmarking software engineering principles and design patterns to build robust world-class solutions.
• Direct cross-functional agile teams as a leader across the software development lifecycle
• Analyse design alternatives using proofs-of-concept, and engage with architects to choose the best optimal solutions
• Obsess about writing high-quality code and performing reviews of the design and code.
• Interact and collaborate with project/program managers to estimate, plan, and reduce technical concerns at the module or project level.
• Ideate with your peers, support their work, and provide constructive feedback on their solutions.
• Try to get to the heart of the problem by closely liaising with customers and getting to the heart of what's working and what's not.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Position : Technical Lead (JAVA/J2EE)
2. Salary : As per the Industry standard 
3. Role: (70% Technical; 30% Team Leading Activities)
4. Successfully design medium to large-scale Enterprise solutions using Java technologies
5. Good knowledge of the design patterns like core design patterns, J2EE design patterns and architectural design patterns along with knowledge of UML
6. Lead technical discussion to provide technical guidance and create coding standards
7. Good with architecting and engineering systems independently, would want the individual to be comfortable implementing a significant part of the framework.
8. Provide technical knowledge and leadership on design and development best practices. 
9. Provide technical input on unit and integration tests for server- and client-side applications, build and deployment procedures and standards.
10. Interaction with management and module leads

Required skills

1. 5+ years of experience in developing and testing software using Java J2EE based application
2. Experience in managing team technically.
3. 3+ years of experience in Object Oriented Analysis and Design. 
4. 2+ years of experience in developing application using Spring (Spring Core, Spring ORM and Spring Batch), Hibernate.
5. 2+ years of experience in web technologies using Spring MVC, jQuery. 
6. Good knowledge of design patterns
7. Knowledge on SSL, Web application security frameworks
8. Experience in J2EE performance and scalability
9. Hands on experience on Maven, Jenkins, Nexus etc.
10. Proficient in Software development/integration/build tools like GIT, GERRIT, JIRA/BugZilla
11. Sound knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis, Design and Design Patterns especially MVC is must
12. Good Knowledge and hands on experience on different databases.  
13. Proficient in Writing / Understanding PL / SQL objects like stored procedures, triggers.  
14. Knowledge on various Application servers including WAS, WLS and JBoss.  
15. Very strong skills in to Angular, AJAX, JSF, Struts, HTML 5, CSS, Bootstrap.  
16. Implement jUnit (unit testing framework) in the project
17. Excellent Oral and Communication skills.
