Frontend Developer

Requirements

Must have 1.5 years of experience in front end development in an internet startup

Deep knowledge of Angular practices and commonly used modules based on extensive work experience

Proficiency with javascript and html5

Extensive knowledge of CSS and JS methods for providing performance visual effects and keeping the frame rate above 30 fps at all times

Thorough understanding of the responsibility of the platform, database, API, caching layer, proxies and other web services used in the system

Creating custom general use modules and components which extend the elements and modules of core Angular

Ability to understand business requirements and translate them in to technical requirements

Roles and responsibilities

Delivering a complete front end application

Ensuring high performance on mobile and desktop

Writing tested, idiomatic and documented Javascript, HTML, CSS

Co-ordinating the workflow between graphic designer, HTML coder and yourself

Cooperating with the back end developer in the process of building restful API

Communicating with external webservices

Ensure high quality graphic standards and high consistency

Stay up to date on emerging technologies

Write functional requirement documents and guides

Must have skills (Angular 6, CSS, HTML, Javascript (ES5 and ES6), rest ful API, Product company / startup experience)

As a Frontend Software Engineer in the Data Science Team, you will build tools and develop technology that deliver data products to a team of strategists, marketing experts and game developers. You will design, build, test and deploy products which serve a company fuelled by data.

Your Team Mates

The Data Science team is central in developing the technology behind the growth and monetisation of our games. We are a cross functional team that consists of analysts, engineers and data scientists, and work closely with the larger engineering team to deliver products spanning our modern, cloud first, tech stack.

What Does The Job Actually Involve?

• Develop and maintain user-friendly and visually appealing web applications using Vue.js
• Create interactive and informative data visualisations for general audiences as well as highly specialised teams
• Integrate with large, complex data sources and machine learning models via APIs
• Work within a data focused team to increase access to and the understanding of test and analysis results within game development, marketing and other aspects of the company

Your Hard Skills

• Minimum 2 years browser-based programming experience
• A proven track record of programming high quality and innovative web pages using Javascript, HTML5 & CSS3 and relevant frameworks (ideally VueJS but could also be others e.g. ReactJS, AngularJS, Svelte)
• Knowledge of data visualisation libraries and techniques
• Understanding of REST APIs, asynchronous programming, and data handling
• An excellent working knowledge of various database, scripting, and development tools, for example bash, Python, Postgres, MySQL, CouchBase, git, JIRA
• A creative mindset motivated by challenges and constantly striving for the best

• Expertise in using AMDP, CDS views, ADBC, External views

• Build fluid, scalable, responsive, and consumer-centric web platforms that target users across a wide array of devices
• Collaborate closely with designers & backend developers and contribute to the full product development life-cycle from design and development to roll out
  Take ownership of work and deliver quality results consistently
• Own the delivery of multiple features in a fast-paced work environment
• Build optimized and modular components to provide performance-oriented solutions
• Work in a dynamic and collaborative culture ensuring good teamwork and communication with remote team members when needed

• 4+ Years of experience in frontend web development (1+ in ReactJS)
• Strong past experience of building, scaling and maintaining feature-rich customer-facing single-page applications
• Ability to translate designs into UI elements with accuracy and an eye for fluidity and responsiveness; strong grasp of any of CSS / sass / less
• Proven ability to implement key concepts of state management, security, and caching practices in enterprise-level web applications used at scale
• Proficient understanding of compatibility issues across different browsers and web and mobile devices and available ways to work around them
• Familiarity with the react ecosystem and popular libraries in that ecosystem
• Strong grasp over core web development concepts like HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, general Web 2.0 techniques, and working without modern component libraries
• Experience with designing secure web applications with a strong understanding of common security vulnerabilities and best practices
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms and object-oriented programming
• Strong grasp over concepts of performance, optimization, lighthouse, etc
• Strong handle over Git, following best practices to facilitate collaboration

• Hands-on experience with supporting payments and integrating payment gateways
• Experience with progressive web apps, service workers
• Strong grasp over frontend unit and end-to-end testing frameworks
