Are You Up To The Challenge?
As our Software Engineer - Frontend you’ll be designing and producing excellent web interfaces, working closely with the server and analytics teams.
Your Team Mates
The frontend team consists of both our frontend developers and designers, we work closely with all parts of the business to create tools that vary across the whole company, from the publishing team to create a portal for people to submit games, the marketing team on things like our website, all the way to our internal teams for things like administration and analytics.
What Does The Job Actually Involve?
- You'll be working directly with the server and client teams to create our games server admin interfaces. And closely with the analytics team developing features for our analytics platform.
- A portion of the work involves maintaining/improving our extensive games server admin interface and our in-house Analytics platform.
- You will be working with a lot of different technologies that make up our worldwide cluster where we support millions of daily players.
- On some projects specific gameplay features rely on server side counterparts and complex web UI interfaces making for a good change of pace from Analytics and Data entry interfaces.
Your Hard Skills
- Minimum 2 years browser-based programming experience
- A proven track record of programming high quality and innovative web pages using Javascript, HTML5 & CSS3 and relevant frameworks (ideally ReactJS but could also be others e.g. AngularJS, NodeJS, Handlebars, jquery, gulp)
- An excellent working knowledge of various programming languages, databases and scripting tools including at least one of bash, MySQL, CouchBase, Python, Java, C#, JSP, PHP
- A creative mindset motivated by challenges and constantly striving for the best
- Interest in mobile games

Key Responsibilities
- Design and Build complicated Workflow

- Providing technical expertise for every phase of the project lifecycle; from concept development to solution design, implementation, optimization and support
- Be an Interface with Stockholder sand architects to create technology specifications from business requirements for one or more modules within the project
- Responsible to prepare the technical design of the components within the module (one or more of client/web presentation tier, server tier, data access and data model, integration component, package function customization)
- Proficient in articulating the pros and cons of using a certain technology stack or component or design pattern versus another to the clients and project team and drives selection of technologies, designs to come up with the optimal architecture
- Drives the performance tuning, re-design and re-factoring for a module
- Contributes to designing and implementing the build, release process as well as system configuration and deployment characteristics of the application
- Implements (hands-on) the module components based on prevailing Framework and Open-source standards & its best practices.
- Mentors the team (people working on the module and other project team members) on technology concepts and best practices for design, implementation and other processes
- Identify bad code practices in JavaScript and write new analyzers to detect them.
- Improve the coverage of automatically fixable issues.
- Ensure fewer false-positives are reported by the analyzer.
- Work on the internal tools that support analysis runtimes.
- Contribute to open-source static analysis tools.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Strong foundational knowledge in Computer Science.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience in JavaScript.
- Understanding of the nuances of execution of the source code (AST, data flow graphs, etc).
- Familiarity with JavaScript practices followed in the industry.
- Native experience with Linux/Unix environment.
- A focus on delivering high-quality code through strong testing practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop web-based application for analytics using Angular
- Integrate and extend Python REST APIs and create visually stunning UI experiences for analysts and users.
- Create flexible dashboards and reports (using plotly, d3, etc) and leverage open source technology to create various components.
- Create a flexible UI for data analytics and big data usecases which can be used by Large Tier banks as well as smallscale agile startups
- Write unit tests and functional tests for the component using tools like Jasmine, Karma, Cypress, etc.
- Follow software development practices with continuous testing, development and integration (CD/CI)
- Write and maintain technical design documents and new-feature documents
- Collaborate closely with developers, engineers, testers, and product managers
- Participate in peer-based code reviews and design reviews
- Follow agile methodology and encourage collaboration with tools such as GIT, Confluence and Slack applications
- Undergraduate degree or above in computer science preferred
Required Qualifications
- Knows SPA and frontend technologies well
- Has used atleast 1 web framework: Angular / React / Vue / etc. and comfortable with Javascript/Typescript.
- Experience with styling (CSS / SCSS / others) frameworks like bootstrap, material, foundation, tailwind, etc. is a plus
- Knowledge on visualization frameworks like D3, plotly, highcharts, chart.js, etc. to make customizable dashboards.
- Has used testing libraries like karma, jest, jasmine, cypress, selenium, etc.
- Familiar with with frontend processes like State management (Redux), Reactive programming (rxjs), Authentication methods (JWT, SAML) etc.
- Basic knowledge about APIs (flask, django, nodejs) and worked on deploying web applications (nginx or apache or cloud technologies like AWS, GCP, docker, etc.) will be beneficial.
