Greet customers arriving at the footwear counter/section, make them feel welcome and comfortable.
Identify customer needs: ask questions about when/where they’ll use the shoes (work, casual, sport, formal) and their style preferences.
Provide expert advice on footwear styles, fits, materials and trends, recommending options that align with the customer’s taste and lifestyle. (Based on typical footwear-sales job tasks.
Assist customers with trying on shoes: correct size, comfort fit, proper lacing/fastening, demonstration of walking in the shoes if needed. Apna
Cross-sell accessories and complementary items (eg: socks, insoles, shoe care products) to enhance the purchase and customer satisfaction.
Stay updated on the latest fashion and footwear trends, including brand releases, popular colours/styles, and customer fashion behaviour. (From fashion consultant roles)
Maintain the appearance of the footwear counter: ensure displays are attractive, stock is well-organized, sizes visible, correct labelling; ensure a clean, inviting environment.
Meet defined sales targets or KPIs (units sold, accessory attach‐rate, customer satisfaction).
Handle the sales transaction (cash/ card/ POS), ensure accurate billing, process any returns or exchanges in line with policy.
Provide post-sale service advice: shoe care, break-in period, warranty/return policy.
Collect customer feedback, understand preferences, possibly build a customer profile for repeat visits (optional depending on store).
Collaborate with inventory/stock team: alert when sizes/styles are low, suggest reorder/ replenishment.
Be flexible with work hours: weekends, holidays, busy sale periods likely
