Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain robust Python-based backend services and APIs to support our web and mobile applications.
2. Design and implement efficient, reusable, and reliable ReactJS components for our frontend user interfaces.
3. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
4. Optimize application performance and scalability through code optimization, caching strategies, and other best practices.
5. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in Python, ReactJS, and related technologies, and proactively apply them to improve our development processes.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Strong proficiency in Python with experience in Django or Flask frameworks.
3. Extensive experience in building responsive web applications using ReactJS, Redux, and related libraries.
4. Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and experience with integrating backend services with frontend applications.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment with tight deadlines.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in developer communities.

• Architecting and implementing the solutions we build
• Working with the team, client and project manager to efficiently deliver projects
• Translating business needs to technical solutions and communicating with the client
• Ensuring that good programming practices are followed
• Supporting other engineers’ growth with your expertise and mentorship
• Taking part in internal initiatives such as performance reviews, technical recruitment, estimation of pre-sale projects

• Ideally 2 years of commercial experience using Node.js

• 3 years of experience using JavaScript (ES2015+)
• Comfortable with DRY & SOLID principles in your own code
• Experience in writing tests using Mocha/Chai/Jest
• Experience with Express.js
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux environment
• Understanding of non-relational/relational databases

As a Software Engineer, you will build and scale Clockwork, creating an engaging experience for our users. As one of the first few engineers, you will work on 0 to 1 type projects, partnering closely with our product, design and business teams to build the future of Clockwork.

• Write, test and deploy code to enhance our product
• Design software systems for new features
• Diagnose bugs and system bottlenecks as our product scales
• Work closely with product and design to define our roadmap

• 3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
• Solid engineering, coding and problem solving skills
• Strong product/business sense

Job Requirements

• 2+ years JavaScript experience
• 2+ years frontend React JS framework experience
• 1+ years of backend development experience (Node JS, C# dot NET, Java, Python, etc)
• 2+ years relational database experience (MySql, MSSQL, or PostgreSQL)
• Computer Science or related Engineering degree from a top-tier college
