Engineering Head

LogiNext is looking for a technically savvy and passionate mobile application leader to cater to the development and launch of core mobile product features. You will help the team in building an awesome product with your optimized code. You will make a humongous impact on design, architecture, implementation and enhancement of the applications that exceed client expectations in terms of value and benefit.

You have hands-on experience in building secure, high-performing and scalable mobile applications. Your design intuition inclines towards usability, elegance and simplicity. You are biased towards open-source tools and existing frameworks. You have assisted in shipping applications with beautiful front-end and intelligent back end. You have demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop cutting edge native Android or iOS applications for the mobile platform
• Build, test, maintain and enhance mobile apps having elegant and efficient UI/UX to enhance client experience
• Own features from their ideation, design, development, test, release and maintenance
• Be a resident expert of new trends and implement the latest Android/iOS features to maximize application performance
• Maintain high standards of quality and responsiveness through technical design analysis, code reviews and test automation
• Collaborate with a talented team of product managers, engineers, and designers
• Demonstrate high level of ethics, dedication and teamwork

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
• 10+ years of experience in developing native Android or iOS mobile applications
• Strong knowledge of programming language in Swift or Java/Kotlin, SQLite and IDE like XCode or Android Studio
• Hands on experience in using Location Based Services, REST Web Services Integration, FCM, Firebase and Battery Optimization Techniques
• Strong experience in memory management, performance tuning and resource optimization
• Deep knowledge of mobile automation and unit testing frameworks
• Proven ability to drive large scale projects with deep understanding of Agile SDLC, high collaboration and leadership
• Experience in both Android and iOS applications is a plus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, judgment and decision-making skills

• Expert-level knowledge of developing Android based applications.
• Deep understanding of the internals of Android Frameworks.
• Good knowledge of OOPS concepts and JAVA.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
• Experienced in building mobile applications that utilize web services.
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
• Good knowledge of SQLlite database.
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build advanced hybrid mobile applications using React Native
• Lead the application development effort by being the SPOC
• Build hybrid apps using React Native for Android/iOS
• Publish apps to corresponding App store/Play store
• Implement new technologies to maximize application performance and optimize load time
• Collaborate with the back-end developer to build the RESTful APIs
• Research on emerging technologies and trends
• Participate in the planning and design of future software and technical architectures

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands on experience in the full life cycle of Hybrid mobile application development including publishing one or more apps to the play store & app store
• Must have developed Hybrid Mobile application using React. Hands on Working experience of React Native is a must.
• Experience developing back-end services preferably with NodeJS.
• Experience in developing apps on native Android/iOS platforms is a plus
• Experience in designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer) along with some experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA)
• Strong skills in RESTful web services
• Experience with Agile methodologies would be helpful

Key Responsibilities:

• Take part in the development and enhancement of an Open-Source SDK
• Be both an individual contributor with hands-on development responsibility, as well as a mentor and lead for a small developer team
• Contribute to the Open-Source community interaction, including participation in the discussion forums
• Review code contributions, review pull requests
• Create and maintain the documentation for the SDK
• Design and development a usable and functional Android reference app
• Hands-on Android development, including feature development, troubleshooting, debugging, problem solving and bug fixing
• Design and run your own unit test cases, integration test cases and test automation
• Analyze new requirements, investigate feasibility, suggest implementation options and estimate efforts timeline, dependencies and risks
• Collaborate closely with other development team members, including some being located at other parts of the world

Required Skills:

• 9+ years of experience in the software development industry
• 5+ years of experience in Android development
• 5+ years of experience in Java and/or Kotlin, with strong programming and software engineering skills
• Good understanding of Android related programming patterns and OS facilities, including activities, fragments, views, lifecycles and UI components
• Experience with SQLite database development
• Excellent communication skills, especially written
• Experience in creating software architecture and design document, as well as externally-focused technical documentations
• Readiness to work in a global team with contributors from different backgrounds, skills and locations
• Experience in leading small technical teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Software/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or comparable relevant experience

Preferred Bonus Skills:

• Experience in Design and Implementation of RESTful APIs
• Experience in Database design and implementation
• High proficiency in Kotlin, including multi-threading and synchronization (Kotlin coroutines)
• Experience in Open-Source development
• GitHub experience (Continuous Integration, GitHub routines)
• Real-life experience with mainstream commercial-grade mobile apps used by a broad user base (please provide links to app listings)
• Experience with Jetpack libraries (fragment library, recycler view)
• Familiarity with Java 8 libraries such as Java Time
• Hands-on experience in the Agile/Scrum development process
