Engineer: User Interface (India)

ThoughtSpot is a tier- 1 VC funded startup looking to disrupt the $69B business intelligence industry. The ThoughtSpot founders have previously built the fastest- growing enterprise tech company of the last decade, Nutanix, and also market- defining search and analytics technologies at companies such as Google, Yahoo and Oracle. ThoughtSpot is hiring rock star engineers for its application team in our Bangalore, India office. Our goal is to redefine how business users visualize and analyze large data sets, making the UI a critical differentiator for our product. The challenge is to build a highly interactive app that delivers complex functionalities of a BI application in an intuitive and easy to understand fashion for business users. At the same time the application should have lightning fast response times even when a large amount of data is pushed into it. We are seeking core members of the engineering team that are up to this challenge and share our passion for building revolutionary user interfaces. This is truly an opportunity to build something from scratch that will be the first of its kind in the business intelligence market. Skill Set Strong programming skills and computer science fundamentals. Very strong full stack experience with familiarity in serving technologies such as HTTP, CDN, proxies and caching. Proven track record of building complex web application. Solid understanding of browser fundamentals, HTML5/ CSS3/ Javascript. A passion for architecting solutions that make UI responsive, with an ability to identify, quantify, debug and remove performance bottlenecks. Exposure to UI frameworks such as AngularJS, YUI, jQuery or D3 is a plus. Exposure to infrastructure tools such as Nginx, Node or Grunt is a plus.
