Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced 8 to 10 years and detail-oriented PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Design & Management:

Design, implement, and manage PostgreSQL database systems.

Perform regular maintenance of PostgreSQL databases, including updates, backups, and restores.

Ensure database availability, reliability, and performance tuning.

• Optimization & Troubleshooting:

Monitor and optimize the performance of PostgreSQL databases.

Write efficient SQL queries, create stored procedures, and optimize queries for better performance.

Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, performance bottlenecks, and outages.

• Backup & Disaster Recovery:

Implement and maintain regular backup and disaster recovery processes for databases.

Perform database replication and clustering for high availability.

• Security & Compliance:

Enforce database security policies, including user access management and data encryption.

Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and standards.

• Collaboration & Development:

Work with developers to optimize application queries and database design.

Assist in database migrations and upgrades to new versions of PostgreSQL.

Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and database architecture planning.

Skills & Qualifications:

Experience:

Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator.

Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database design, administration, and performance tuning.

• Technical Skills:

Proficiency with SQL and PL/pgSQL.

Experience with PostgreSQL clustering, replication, and sharding.

Familiarity with database backup tools (pg_dump, pg_basebackup) and high-availability techniques (replication, failover) tools like patroni, pgpool2 etc.,.

Understanding of PostgreSQL performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.

• Preferred Skills:

Should have experience in Azure-managed databases.

Ability to manage databases (specifically Percona Postgres Distribution) in Kubernetes environments.

Expertise in managing Postgres databases on cloud virtual machines (VMs).

Proficiency in configuring distributed storage solutions like Citus.

Experience in database partitioning to optimize large datasets.

Should have experience in configuring tablespaces in PostgreSQL.

• Additional Skills:

Knowledge of containerization technologies and orchestrations such as Docker,kubernetes for PostgreSQL deployment.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and PostgreSQL in the cloud.

Familiarity with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Shell scripting for automating database operations.

As a Tech Lead I (Backend) at Gocomet, you will be pivotal in driving backend development initiatives. Your role will involve leading the design and implementation of robust backend systems, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.

You will work closely with other team leads and departments to define and meet the technical and business requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Backend vision & ownership: Architect and implement scalable and efficient backend solutions, contributing significantly to the design and overall architecture, keeping in mind a long term vision of the product & scale.
• Optimize Performance: Focus on optimizing the application for maximum speed and scalability, including database optimization, effective caching strategies, improving code health, code design & refactoring, etc.
• Technical Innovation: Suggest innovative solutions wherever required for problems related to new product requirements & scale related issues. Stay abreast of emerging backend technologies and trends, advocating and leading the adoption of technologies that will give a competitive edge to our products.
• Mentor and Guide: Provide mentorship and guidance to backend development team members, ensuring the dissemination of best practices and efficient use of technology stacks. Take ownership of hiring & building a high quality backend team.
• Quality Assurance: Uphold high standards in code quality, including rigorous code review processes, and ensure adherence to industry best practices in backend development.

Experience & Skills:

• Backend Expertise: 4-6 years of experience in backend development, with a deep understanding of server-side logic, architecture design & handling scalability issues.
• Cloud & DevOps exposure: Experience with Cloud (GCP or AWS) with a deep understanding of different services, resources utilisations, CI/CD pipelines, Observability tools (Sentry, New Relic / Datadog, etc.) and an ability to debug infra related issues.
• Strong Technical Skills: Strong expertise in a Backend development framework (preferably Ruby on Rails but not mandatory), SQL & NoSQL database technologies.

(like Postgresql and MongoDB), Caching (Redis), Async job frameworks (like Sidekiq), etc.

• Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, research ability with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience in mentoring backend development teams and taking complete tech ownership.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical challenges and solutions to both technical and non-technical team members.

• Drive co-branded marketing initiatives with merchants.
• Plan and execute major campaigns to drive merchant sales.
• Proactively engage with the merchant's marketing team and be the point of contact from the company India marketing team.

Ideal Skills & Experience

• Experience in ideating and executing major campaigns.
• Experience in running ads on digital platforms, Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc.
• Knowledge of building landing pages on WordPress is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and an eagerness to continuously learn emerging marketing trends and adopt the ones aligning with business objectives.
• Ability to coordinate and work with interdepartmental teams.

• 4-8 years of frontline Operation/sourcing/channel management experience or P&L Management
• Strong leadership qualities to lead a large geographically spread team
• Ability to manage conflicts and good stakeholder management skills
• Multi-tasking capabilities and inter departmental coordination
• Product first mindset and relevant experience is a useful plus
• Experience in channel management in B2C space will be very useful
• A strong team sport background is a plus (showcasing the long term commitment and rigor)   

• Designing, architecting, developing and driving the technology roadmap
• Defining standards in coding, system design and architecture
• Delivering solutions according to user requirements while meeting development, quality and documentation standards

What you need to have:

• Relevant experience of 2 to 5 years as .net developer
• Hands on experience in Web forms, MVC, bootstrap, java script, windows application, crystal reports    
• Good in writing SQL, GIT
• Good in OOPs concept
• Knowledge of .net core 3.1 or above
