Angular Developer

As a Software Development Engineer II (Frontend) at Hiver, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical landscape, influencing our product roadmap, and guiding our team while contributing to our vibrant company culture. With our customer base expanding rapidly and processing over 5 million emails daily for thousands of active users, you will be at the forefront of creating and enhancing the user experience. In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of highly skilled engineers while providing critical technical direction to our front-end development efforts. You will also have the exciting opportunity to tackle intricate technical challenges, including optimizing our architecture to handle the surging email volume and establishing a framework to monitor and enhance the performance of our front-end systems.

What you will be working on:

• Building and maintaining interactive and responsive frontend systems across various form factors. You will own all aspects of front-end development from coding to deploying.
• Building next-generation web applications with high reusability. This is the early phase of the project and you will do foundational work on multiple aspects.
• Helping define and improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
• Collaborating closely with designers and other stakeholders to build dynamic and compelling user experiences while embracing emerging standards

What we are looking for:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience building frontend systems.
• Proficiency in Web Fundamentals - HTML5, CSS3 & JavaScript, VueJS (Version 2/3) & Typescript.
• Candidates with VueJS are preferred. (We welcome candidates with experience in any frontend language, provided they are open to learning and working with Vue JS.)
• Experience with SASS / Tailwind CSS is required.
• Sound knowledge of design patterns and best practices for writing clean, linted, maintainable and reusable code
• Solid foundation in Computer Science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Strong know-how and experience with frontend tooling and best deployment practices are required.
• An architect's mindset - we want a fast time to market but without undermining long-term prospects. You will have to continuously assess the various trade-offs when considering long-term vs. short-term benefits/drawbacks and make informed choices about the optimal approach.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills - you should be able to troubleshoot and solve issues in a timely manner.
• Ability to iterate and deliver at a fast pace - speed is of the essence.
• Good communication skills - you should have good communication skills, both written and verbal. You should be proficient in English and able to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead technical processes and designs considering reliability, data integrity, maintainability, reuse, extensibility, usability, and scalability.
• Review code of development team to ensure quality and adherence to best practices and standards.
• Mentor junior developers to develop their skills and build strong talent.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure partners to identify and deploy optimal hosting environments.
• Define scalability and performance criteria for assigned applications.
• Ensure application meets the performance, privacy, and security requirements.
• Verify test plans to ensure compliance with performance and security requirements.
• Support business and technical presentations in relation to technology platforms and business solutions.
• Mitigate risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls.
• Help develop solutions that balance cost and delivery while meeting business requirements.
• implement technology-specific best practices that are consistent with corporate standards.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of product strategy and project deliverables.
• Manage the software development process.
• Drive new technical and business process improvements.
• Estimate total costs of modules/projects covering both hours and expense.
• Research and evaluate specific technologies, and applications, and contributes to the solution design.
• Construct application Architecture encompassing end-to-end designs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree required with Masters, or equivalent experience preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of related experience.
• 7+ Years of Active Development Experience/ Expertise in Java/J2EE Based Applications proven ability with Hibernate, JPA, Spring, Spring MVC
• Exposure to XML/XSD, JSON and similar data presentation components
• Familiarity with Microservices based architecture and distributed systems.
• Ability to develop and work with REST APIs using Spring Boot framework.
• Knowledge of IBM MQ and messaging protocols such as JMS
• Understanding of Unix/Linux OS including shell scripting
• Strong database and PL/SQL skills
• Experience with CI/CD technologies like GIT, Jenkins, JoCoCo and Maven
• Experience with UI frameworks - Angular, NodeJS and NPM is a plus
• Experience with CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and similar UI frameworks (jQuery, React Angular) is a plus
• Familiarity with Agile development methodology

7. Understands how to optimize the delivery of code and assets (e.g., images, fonts) to a browser or device (e.g., lazy loading assets, using CDNs, caching, compression, etc.)
8. Experience in working with jasmine, karma, and Angular TestBed
9. Experience in working in agile environments
10. Able to maintain versioning for the source code using Git

What you'll need...

• Highly experienced using AngularJS , NodeJS
• Good understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3, Javascript
• Strong understanding of CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS.
• A solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as GIT
• An excellent ability to convert PSD/Sketch mockups into interactive digital experiences

Bonus points for...

• eCommerce development experience Magento,
• Understanding of conversion rate optimization or data-driven product development (analytics, a/b testing, etc.)
• Experience developing with prototype frameworks (Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.)
• Experience integrating dynamic content solutions with AJAX or API Services

Experience in Cloud and Serverless

• Knowledge of version control systems (GitHub etc.)

• You have 4-8 years of experience  in Frontend for web based applications with strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Frameworks like Angular  or React
• You love building things, and have built complex consumer web applications in the past.
• You have a sound understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• You are an expert in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery.
• You are an expert in at least one JavaScript framework, such as Angular 7+, React or Vue.
• You understand how website-backend interacts with frontend as well as external APIs.
• You enjoy mentoring others and helping them solve challenging problems.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design and implement components of our web application, and admin panel
• Build a robust, lightweight, and high-performance client-side app
• Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code

Key Qualifications

• Expertise in ReactJS/Redux
• Working knowledge of TypeScript or Flow is a plus
• PURE experience of 1.5 Years and more in Frontend Development
• Expert-level knowledge of developing, shipping, and maintaining Javascript applications
• Knowledge of general software design patterns
• Deep understanding of Javascript
• Up-to-date on the latest build tools, and libraries such as ES6, Webpack, Babel
• Proficient in Javascript with strong object-oriented design skills
