Android Developer

We are looking out for an iOS Developer to join the Mobile team to take end to end ownership of our iOS Consumer App. We are looking out for someone who speaks fluent Swift and loves shipping and building beautiful, maintainable and scalable apps.

Requirements:

• You have 2-6 years of experience working with Swift and Objective-C whenever you encounter the pitfalls of Swift.
• Familiarity with MVC, MVP, MVVM and VIPER architectures.
• You have worked on 2-3 production apps with MAU's in the range of 25K+.
• You love getting your hands dirty and are dealing with legacy parts of the code bases.
• You have experience building projects from scratch as well as building on top of existing code bases.
• You have handled complex views ranging from Form Heavy views to Animation Heavy views.
• You have a strong bias towards action.

Good to have:

• Experience dealing with Location Data along with Mapping interfaces like Google Maps, Map Box or MapMyIndia.
• Experience implementing CI/CD, Automated Tests and Unit Testing.
• Experience with RxSwift, Alamofire, Kingfisher, Lottie, SwiftyBeaver, Firebase SDK, Clevertap SDK and ObjectMapper.
• Implementing designs w. r. t HCI guidelines.

Job Description:

• Strong working experience in IOS application development is a must. First-hand experience of native mobile apps using Swift must.
• Experience with Swift, RxSwift, Swift UI, and Unit tests.
• Strong system design and architecture skills - specifically for IOS. Curiosity to tinker around, explore new paradigms and strongest for continuous improvement. Strong problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of network connections, Rest API'sand scheduling. Strong knowledge of security standards (e.g. HTTPS) and privacy standards.
• Idea/experience of the unit and instrumentation testing in IOS. Optimizing app performance and memory consumption.
• Leveraging community libraries to efficiently complete development tasks.
• Debugging apps using simulators and related tooling.
• Persisting data for offline-first apps using databases such as Realm.
• Localizing apps to support multiple languages and regions, vernacular libraries and fonts.
• Familiar with Version control systems such as GIT.

Job Description: A full-stack Android developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mobile applications for the Android operating system that provides indoor map rendering and navigation functionality. They will work with a team of developers, designers, and project managers to create a seamless navigation experience for users.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-performance, reusable, and reliable Java and Kotlin code for the indoor navigation application.
• Implement indoor navigation algorithms and integrate with location-based services and sensors, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and accelerometer, to provide accurate indoor positioning
• Use Android Studio and other development tools to build, test, and debug the application
• Work with designers and project managers to ensure that the application meets all requirements and is released on schedule
• Collaborate with other developers to integrate with backend systems and APIs
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code that adheres to best practices
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, and update and maintain existing applications
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
• Understand the full mobile development life cycle, from concept to deployment
• Continuously monitor the market for new indoor navigation technologies and techniques, and incorporate them into the application as appropriate.

Requirements: The suitable candidate should have experience with the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Kotlin programming languages
• Experience with Android SDK and Android Studio
• Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
• Experience with indoor navigation algorithms and location-based services
• Familiarity with Git and version control
• Understanding of design principles and material design

• Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable Java code. 
• Translate designs and wireframes into high quality components and modular code, ensuring the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
• Strong advocate of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
• Strong sense of ownership and integrity demonstrated through clear communication and collaboration.Having experience with building and maintaining an open source project or design library is a plus.

• 3 + years of experience of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes. 
• Experience with local databases, offline storage, threading, and performance tuningExperience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose is desirable.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
• Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as camera, gyroscopes and accelerometers
• Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
