About the Role

We’re looking for a Founding Full-Stack Engineer who can own backend, web, and mobile development end-to-end. You’ll work directly with the founder to build the first version of the product, make key architecture decisions, and help shape the engineering culture from day one.

What You’ll Do

• Build and own backend systems: APIs, auth, data models, messaging, matching.
• Lead development across web (React) and mobile (React Native + Swift/Kotlin).
• Convert ideas from Figma/Notion → shipped features quickly.
• Iterate fast based on real user feedback from the queer Desi community.
• Set up CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and engineering best practices.
• Contribute to early hiring and team building.

What We’re Looking For

• 5–8+ years experience across backend + frontend.
• Strong in React, React Native, and either Swift (iOS) or Kotlin (Android).
• Proven experience shipping consumer apps (App Store / Play Store).
• Hands-on with backend architecture, CI/CD, and early-stage infra setup.
• Excellent product sense and ability to build fast in 0→1 environments.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a founder-mindset level of ownership.

1. Full-time undergraduate degree or above in computer and related majors

2. More than 8+ years of iOS development experience, proficient in OC/Swift language

3. Have good architecture and interface design capabilities, understand object-oriented design and design patterns, and be able to implement reusable components with high quality

4. Familiar with performance optimization, familiar with Frameworks-related core libraries, multi-threading, data storage, network communication and other underlying principles

5. Have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, quick learning ability, stress resistance, communication and collaboration skills

6. Applicants with experience in large-scale first-line Internet product development will be given priority

7. Applicants with development experience in large-scale project performance optimization, engineering efficiency optimization, cross-platform solutions, etc. will be given priority

8. Be familiar with one or more third-party source codes. You need to be familiar with and understand the design patterns and runtime source codes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field 8 to 10 years of experience in developing native Android or iOS mobile applications Strong knowledge of programming language in Swift or Java/Kotlin, SQLite and IDE like XCode or Android Studio Hands on experience in using Location Based Services, REST Web Services Integration, FCM, Firebase and Battery Optimization Techniques Strong experience in memory management, performance tuning and resource optimization Deep knowledge of mobile automation and unit testing frameworks Proven ability to drive large scale projects with deep understanding of Agile SDLC, high collaboration and leadership Experience in both Android and iOS applications is a plus Excellent written and oral communication skills, judgment and decision-making skills

• Design and Build advanced applications for the Android.
• Work with outside data sources and Rest API's
• Worked on MVVM architecture, third party libraries etc.
• Experience with Kotlin, Rxjava.

• Own the delivery of multiple features of the product end to end while hands-on in development as well
• Advocate best development practices such as continuous integration/continuous delivery, automation (testing and infrastructure) and code modularity, extensibility, quality
• Adopt security- first approach in the product development and ensure automated and manual security checks in place across the delivery pipeline
• Lead by example and mentor other developers in the team both technically and professionally
• Support other Senior Product Engineers and contribute to their growth professionally
• Work with  tech leads and the team to ensure shared technology vision and develop state of the art design and architecture for any product development
• Work with other functions such as testing, analysis, infra management, support to ensure faster delivery of products
• Ensure timely and accurate communication with broader team in order to share understanding of product functionality, features, and technology vision
• Look out for technology trends across the industry and apply relevant developments to the products
• Work with the decentralised application business owners to ensure their vision is realised through efficient technology and delivery timelines

• Must have extensive hands on experiencing designing and building mobile applications on Android
• Must have excellent programming, debugging and scripting skills with a solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design principles
• Must have ability to learn/iterate quickly in a rapidly changing technical stack with nascent codebase and developer tools
• Must possess a passion for delivery-focused development, and overcoming challenges through teamwork and self-motivation
• Ability to work in a variety of client settings and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment 
• Ability to communicate technical vision and direction of the product and make significant impacts to technology and design choices

• Knowledge of software practices like refactoring, clean code, domain driven design, Encapsulation etc 
• Hands on experience managing databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis
• Exposure to event driven systems and event streaming engines like Kafka
• Good knowledge of DevOps tooling like docker, kubernetes, ansible/chef, AWS.
• Solid OO skills, including strong design patterns knowledge and enterprise integration
