• B.E. / B.Tech. / MCA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields is required.
• Proven software development experience and Android skills development
• Proven working experience in Android app development and have published at least one original Android app.
• Experience with Android SDK
• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies

About the Role

As an Android Developer, you will own the Android app and strive to deliver the best learning experience out there to our learners that upGrad is known for. You will be responsible for developing features, taking those features to production and maintaining the existing code. Innovative nature and pro-active involvement in the product is taken very seriously at upGrad, therefore, a major part of your role would involve thinking about new features and new ways to deliver quality learning experience to our learners

Skills/Experience

1. Minimum 6+ years of hands-on Android development experience.
2. Strong Java and object-oriented concepts.
3. Solid understanding of Android architectural patterns especially MVVM and their importance in scalable software development process.
4. Strong understanding of Android fundamentals.
5. Experience in Android UI creation.
6. Experience of Android Live Data, Kotlin and Constraint layout would be a huge plus point.

Years of Exp –  Minimum 6-8 

Roles & Responsibilities

• You’ll be actively involved with and monitor the development of OS stack and firmware.
• You’ll be architecting and implementing best-in-class ‘real-time’ OS to power mobile phones in the market.
• You’ll be responsible for designing, implementation & maintenance of various embedded components and applications for mobile platforms.
• Communicate often & effectively about the status of new & ongoing development efforts within the company.
• Represent the OS engineering team at high-level meetings.

• Experience in Android and OS firmware-based development for commercial consumer mobile phones.

• B.Tech/BS/BE/BS/MS/M.Tech/MS in Electronics or Computer Science from a premier institute in India (IITs, BITS, NITs, etc) or abroad.

• Experience with building scalable applications using Flutter on android or IOS. (we are happy to meet you even if you do not know flutter but are willing to learn)
• Strong knowledge of Architectural pattern like Bloc, Provider etc in Flutter. Knowledge of writing Plugins in Flutter is a good to have skill
• Ability to think about scalability and reusability while developing flutter widgets.
• Experience in working with Dart.
• Knowledge of unit & integration testing, agile development process, jira & API integration will be extremely useful
• Strong UI building skills and the ability to handle updates in UI with high frequency data changes.
• Experience with version control systems (bitbucket, git etc.)
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures
• Should have demonstrated experience working on application development projects and test-driven development. Experience in writing high quality code
• Strong state management knowledge
• Experience in Fintech domain will be another added advantage
