Android platform (Android Studio, Kotlin, Java, Android SDK) OR

Any other platform, with proven track record of picking up new skills

Hands-on experience with modern technologies.

Excellent Kotlin/Java programming skills

Excellent analytical, debugging and troubleshooting skills (battery usage, network usage optimization, etc)

Passion for usability, simplicity and consistency in software development.

Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Exposure to Agile methodologies

Bonus points for knowledge of iOS platforms, hybrid platforms(React native, Flutter).

• Proven working experience in Android Native development 

• Excellent coding skills in Java or Kotlin or both. 

• Should have knowledge in SQL and SQLite Database.

• Strong knowledge in User Interface designing using latest frameworks.

• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.

• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.

• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs 

• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies

Job Requirements:

- The candidate should be capable of completing app projects from start to finish independently.

- 0- 2 Years of overall industry experience and rich experience inPodium Introduction:

 React-native.

- Ability to think from the end user's perspective and focus on improving the overall product experience.

- Developer at heart with strong focus to learn and implement the latest enhancements in React Native.

- Hands-on experience on Web development technology stack, HTML/JS/CSS and other web development libraries and frameworks is an added advantage.

- Thorough understanding of React Native development tools like IDEs (Nuclide, Atom, Sublime Text, or Visual Studio Code), Chrome debugging tools, ESLint, React Native CLI, Watchman, package manager, etc.

- Good familiarity with most of the React Native built-in and popular third party frameworks, libraries, and accelerators. With in-depth expertise on most of the popular ones.

- Excellent exposure and expertise in design patterns and software design patterns in general.

- Good communication skills.

Required Experience: 0- 2 years on React Native development

Qualification: BE/ Btech/ MCA/ BCA/ IT graduate

About the Role

As an Android Developer, you will own the Android app and strive to deliver the best learning experience out there to our learners that upGrad is known for. You will be responsible for developing features, taking those features to production and maintaining the existing code. Innovative nature and pro-active involvement in the product is taken very seriously at upGrad, therefore, a major part of your role would involve thinking about new features and new ways to deliver quality learning experience to our learners

Skills/Experience

1. Minimum 6+ years of hands-on Android development experience.
2. Strong Java and object-oriented concepts.
3. Solid understanding of Android architectural patterns especially MVVM and their importance in scalable software development process.
4. Strong understanding of Android fundamentals.
5. Experience in Android UI creation.
6. Experience of Android Live Data, Kotlin and Constraint layout would be a huge plus point.

Years of Exp –  Minimum 6-8 

Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support) on both Android and iOS
- Build a framework as the application grows so our Apps and SDKs are unanimous. 
- Produce fully functional mobile applications writing clean code 
- Gather specific requirements and suggest solutions 
- Troubleshoot and debug to optimise performance 
- Design interfaces to improve user experience 
- Liaise with Product team to plan new features 
- Ensure new and legacy applications meet quality standards 
- Stay up-to-date with new technology trends
- Work with latest Security protocols and data transfer optimisations

- Proven work experience as a Mobile developer with 3 - 5 years of experience. 
- Must be proficient in at least one programming language from Java, Swift & Objective C and must be willing to learn the other two. 
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs 
- Familiarity with OOP design principles 
- Excellent analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude 
- Ability to perform in a fast paced team environment
- Strong understanding of in-device security

Preferences:

If you have experience Building apps for fast-growing startups
- If you have hands-on experience on iOS and Android both
- If you have experience working with Flutter.

Note:Our Android application is being written in Java 
and iOS app in Objective C and Swift.
