Job Title: Linux System Engineer - Client Site Deployment

Job Summary:
TechMonarch, a leading IT Managed Services provider, is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Linux System Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for providing on-site technical support and expertise to our valued clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Linux system administration, hardware, networking, cloud infrastructure, and basic firewall management. Furthermore, excellent professional conduct and communication skills are paramount, as this individual will represent our company directly at client locations.
Responsibilities:
• Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for client Linux-based systems and infrastructure.
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues related to servers and related peripherals.
• Assist with basic network configuration and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Interact with cloud infrastructure platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for deployment, management, and troubleshooting.
• Implement and maintain basic firewall rules and configurations.
• Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.
• Document technical issues, solutions, and configurations clearly and accurately.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and client IT personnel.
• Maintain a professional demeaner, appearance, and communication style at client site.
• Adhere to client-specific security policies and procedures.
• Proactively identify potential issues and recommend solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry best practices.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a Linux System Administrator/Engineer.
• Proven ability to install, configure, and manage various Linux distributions (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL).
• Solid understanding of server hardware components and troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting) and troubleshooting tools.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their core services.
• Basic understanding of firewall concepts and the ability to manage basic firewall rules.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must possess a professional and customer-oriented attitude.
• Willingness to travel frequently to client sites within the Ahmedabad region.
Desired Skills (Good to Have):
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus).
• Familiarity with security best practices for Linux systems.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Linux+, LPIC, AWS/Azure/GCP certifications).
