📄 Job Description – Business Development Officer (Defence)

🎯 Job Objective
The Business Development Officer (Defence) is responsible for driving business growth through the Defence channel by working closely with agents, lead generators, and defence customers. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, improving customer retention, and strengthening relationships within the assigned defence territory.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development
- Achieve assigned sales targets (New Business & Customer Retention)
- Develop and maintain a healthy product mix (focus on traditional products)
- Drive consistent business growth across the assigned defence territory
2. Lead Generation & Activation
- Build and manage a strong network of lead generators in the defence channel
- Activate and motivate agents/partners to generate business
- Conduct local field activities for lead generation
3. Sales Execution
- Support end-to-end sales process from lead to issuance
- Assist in application submission and documentation
- Ensure timely policy issuance and minimal pendency
4. Relationship Management
- Work closely with agents, partners, and defence customers
- Conduct joint field visits and support sales closures
- Maintain strong long-term relationships within the defence ecosystem
5. Customer Retention
- Ensure high customer persistency (target ~85%)
- Manage renewals and maintain portfolio health
- Handle customer queries and support retention activities
6. Process & Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of applications
- Maintain First Time Right (FTR) within defined limits
- Follow all internal compliance and regulatory guidelines
- Minimize customer complaints and ensure service quality

⚠️ Key Challenges
- Managing multiple agents and lead generators effectively
- Driving consistent business in the assigned territory

👤 Candidate Requirements
- Graduate / 10+2 (as per company policy)
- 1–4 years of experience in Sales / BFSI / Insurance preferred
- Experience in field sales is highly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Target-oriented and self-motivated
- Experience in insurance or agency channel is an advantage
📍 Work Environment
- Field-based sales role with regular client visits
- Defence territory-based operations
- Target-driven and performance-oriented job
- Combination of sales execution and relationship management

📍 Location: Dehradun
🎓 Eligibility: Graduate (Freshers & 1–5 yrs exp. can apply)
📌 Responsibilities:
- Daily operations handling and workflow management
- Order tracking and coordination with teams/clients/vendors
- Preparing Excel reports and MIS data
- Data entry and record maintenance
- Ensuring timely completion of tasks
🧠 Skills Required:
- Basic Excel knowledge
- Good communication & coordination skills
- Attention to detail and time management
💰 Salary:
- Freshers: ₹20,000 – ₹30,000/month
- Experienced: ₹25,000 – ₹35,000/month
🕒 Shift:
- 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (Day shift)
