Role Summary

As the Tech Team Lead, you will lead a cross-functional engineering squad (Flutter, Backend, QA, and occasionally Data) to deliver secure, scalable product features on predictable timelines. This role combines hands-on architecture and coding with team leadership, agile execution, and quality ownership.

You’ll mentor engineers, improve engineering practices, and collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to ship impactful, user-centric experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Own squad roadmap delivery — break down epics into milestones, estimate efforts, prioritize, and ensure timely releases.
• Provide technical leadership — define architecture, enforce coding standards, and guide trade-offs between performance, cost, and complexity.
• Contribute 30–50% hands-on coding — review critical PRs, pair program, and work on key modules.
• Ensure quality and reliability through robust testing (unit/integration/E2E), CI/CD gates, observability, and incident management.
• Mentor and manage 4–8 engineers — conduct 1:1s, set goals, and drive performance and career growth.
• Maintain security and compliance — apply secure development best practices (AuthN/AuthZ, PII handling, secret management).
• Collaborate with Product/Design on scope and acceptance criteria; communicate status, risks, and dependencies effectively.
• Keep technical documentation up to date — architecture decisions, system diagrams, runbooks, and release notes.

Required Qualifications

• 6–9+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2–3 years in team/squad leadership.
• Strong backend expertise in Python, Django/DRF, REST API design, caching, queues, and WebSockets.
• Working knowledge of Flutter/Dart architecture and state management to lead cross-stack initiatives.
• Experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Fastlane, Codemagic), containers (Docker), and AWS (EC2/ECS/ECR, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch).
• Strong testing culture using PyTest, Flutter Test, and observability tools (logs, metrics, tracing, alerts).
• Excellent estimation, prioritization, and communication skills, with the ability to challenge scope when necessary.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Experience releasing and managing mobile apps (Play Console, App Store Connect, TestFlight).
• Exposure to Data/ML pipelines (batch vs. real-time inference, model versioning).
• Familiarity with security practices — OWASP, IAM, secret management, VPCs.
• Domain experience in health-tech or food-tech, or other privacy-sensitive industries.

• 6+ years of experience in Software Development and writing Unit tests for Mobile Apps
• Excellent designing, debugging and programming skills in an Object oriented programming language like C#, Java, javascript, Swift, Dart etc.
• Experience with Native Mobile development (Android or IOS) and Cross-Platform mobile development (preferably Flutter)
• Solid understanding of SOLID principles
• Strong knowledge of writing code for testability, modularity and extensibility
• Knowledge of test methodologies and corresponding unit test framework tools like JUnit etc.

Role and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Managers to plan, implement and deliver tasks and modules on a timely basis with best practices and adherence to SOPs.
• Understand the product requirements, ask questions, and gather information and feedback to design and deliver features both on Android and iOS.
• Create a roadmap of tasks to be delivered for both iOS and Android applications in sync, such that new features go to the end-user at same time. 
• Lead the design of Android and iOS applications in a modular fashion with reusable components.
• Proactively identify issues related to memory consumption, battery drain and multi-threading in the application by planning regular tests and analysis.
• Deliver Android and iOS applications with integration to backend services deployed on the cloud with high quality and responsiveness. 
• Create strong practices around test driven development, automating delivery of apps to the marketplace with strong CI/CD practices.
• Manage a highly skilled and efficient team by hiring, keeping the team motivated, and managing performance.
• Play the role of an unblocker in a tight scrum environment. Should be able to help other developers with challenges, problem solving, and help achieve milestones as per plan.

Skills/Experience

• A highly talented developer with 10+ years of hands-on experience in building apps that have been released to the Play Store(Android) and Appstore(iOS). 
• Demonstrated experience managing teams of 5-10 or more engineers in mobile application teams.
• Strong knowledge of Android, Kotlin, iOS, Swift, Objective C and working with MVVM, MVP, MVC patterns.
• Experience building mobile applications which lean heavily on connecting to cloud services to gather data and stream videos/content. 
• Working knowledge of Xamarin or Flutter (cross platform frameworks) is highly preferred. 
• Practitioner of test driven development practices. Experience in creating and adhering to best practices for development.

• Manage high-level architecture and design data flows in the Android and iOS app in (Dart, Flutter framework)
• Add new features and automate functionalities in backend hosted on Firebase (Typescript, ReactJS framework)
• Setup Marketing and Analytics tools in the app to get relevant daily usage insights and target users in different campaigns. (3rd party tools, Mixpanel)
• Experiment with the live data stream from wearable IoT devices to generate insights using ML models in production.
• Deploying ML models in production to be used inside the app community section.
