WeMakeScholars is an organization funded and supported by the Ministry of IT, Government of India under the 'Digital India Campaign'. We offer international education finance via scholarships and education loans, to study abroad aspirants. We are currently a 120 members team. Last financial year, we disbursed 2200 Cr in education loans to 8300 students across India.

We are looking for a PHP Developer who is keen to work in a startup environment esp. a product-based company. 

Job Overview

We are hiring developers (from 0 to 10 experience) with relevant knowledge and experience with the development and deployment of large-scale cloud-native enterprise systems on PHP, REST APIs, Node Js, Flutter, AWS & MySql. 

As a full-stack engineer, you will be working to create scalable, maintainable, bug repellent state of art web applications. 

About Tech Department:

• Our internal tech team is responsible for end-to-end in-house tech support which includes and is not limited to design, development & deployment. 
• We are continuously developing and improvising our products to enhance customer and team experience.
• As we are in the Fintech space, our team has to ensure the database security of the application.

Job Summary:

• Participate in the full development life cycle, working within broadly defined parameters including design, development, testing, and maintenance of the existing application with minimal supervision.
• Work on optimization and performance improvement activities. Instrument and test performance metrics.
• Participate in peer-to-peer code review to improve the quality and maintenance of the codebase.
• Collaboration with multiple internal/external stakeholders such as product, business, DBA, and Dev Ops.
• Design and implement APIs for web/mobile (both Andriod & iOS) applications.
• To be available on call for the projects or features developed by you. Things break, you will be responsible to fix it when it does.

Experience & Skills Required:

• 3+ years of experience (we are hiring freshers too for junior positions)
• Hands-on experience and knowledge of engineering end-to-end systems.
• Understanding of complete software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews.
• Familiarity with multiple software development practices and tools
• Ability to write clean, modular, and loosely coupled code by the use of design patterns.
• Proficiency in the implementation of algorithms and the use of advanced data structures to solve problems in computing.
• A solid foundation and implementing principles of computer science is a must. Ex: object-oriented programming, concurrency, fundamentals of computer science, SQL databases.

Roles and Responsibilities:

·       Create, develop, and manage cutting-edge PHP web applications on portals and paid service platforms.

·       Create cutting-edge apps in collaboration with the User Experience (UX) group.

·       Check that the shared JavaScript, HTML, and CSS are all credible and reliable across apps.

·       Using standard development tools, create and manage all apps.

·       Use backend data solutions and expertise to expand current data service APIs.

·       From the idea stage through delivery & post-launch maintenance, you will be in charge of the whole web development lifecycle.

·       Convey all work progress, assessments, proposals, timetables, and technical and analytical difficulties properly.

·       The development process, standard components, and architecture should all be documented.

·       Keep up with the latest web development trends and technologies.

               Laravel Developer Requirements

·       Overall 5+ year experience in Laravel framework and Minimum 2 years of experience in Core PHP and object-oriented programming.

·       Experience in developing applications using Laravel frameworks.

·       Should have an excellent grasp of version control technologies, relational databases, and web service development.

·       Strong understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3

·       Knowledge of code versioning tools like Git, SVN, and Mercurial

·       Familiarity with the limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds

·       Intentional commitment to code quality through bug fixes, refactoring, unit testing, and automation

·       Creative problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering business value quickly    

Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain web applications using the CodeIgniter framework.

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

• Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise during development or in existing applications.

• Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve problems.

• Participate in code review sessions to ensure that code meets quality standards.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in web development.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Minimum 1 years of experience in PHP development.

• Strong knowledge of the CodeIgniter framework.

• Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.

• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, PHPUnit, and Composer.

• Experience working in an Agile development environment using Scrum/Kanban.

• Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

• Good understanding of web standards and protocols.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Proven experience in a technical leadership role, managing and leading a team of IT professionals.

Strong technical background in one or more IT domains, such as software development, infrastructure management, cybersecurity, or data management.

In-depth knowledge of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends.

We are looking for highly motivated engineers with the following skillset-

• Engineering degree in Computer science or ECE or MCA is a must
• In-depth knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, AJAX
• Experience using PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, Zend, etc. - any 1 is required
• VueJS, AngularJS, ReactJS - knowledge of any 1 is required
• Between 1-5 years of work experience is required
• Very strong data structure and algorithm knowledge
• Ideal candidate would be a very strong developer with great coding skills
