What You Will Do :
Candidate shall be responsible for the overall quality of the module that he/she is responsible
Candidate shall be responsible for requirement elicitation and architecture of the module for instrument cluster in a production program
Candidate shall help the PM/architect in estimation

What You Need :
Expertise in C++ for more than 6 years
Experience in Automotive is preferred
Understanding of CAN/LIN protocol
Experience with unit testing tool (GTest/ LDRA etc.)
Experience in design tools like Rhapsody is desirable

Technical Lead (Embedded Software - Linux)

Job Responsibilities:

Lead a team of software/Linux development engineers working on microcontroller firmware development, Linux platform drivers and IOT solutions. Should be able to guide team members, resolve technical roadblocks and deliver project commitments. Will be the go-to person and first-level escalation point for all technical issues faced by the team. Looking for someone with 6+ years in the embedded industry and a passion to build a core team in a growing company. Team size will vary from 6 to 12 people, mainly firmware and Linux engineers.

  

The selected candidate for this role will be reporting to the software director/manager in the organization.

• Work with firmware and application architects to create a project execution plan
• Review project proposals for execution scope & timelines
• Lead embedded software development activities by the team
• Work with QA teams to resolve bugs and ensure release readiness
• Work with h/w design and PM teams to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery of projects

  

The main responsibilities of this role are:

  

Technical:

• Strong programming skills (C, C++, assembly)
• Linux development experience (porting & platform drivers)
• Expert-level knowledge of embedded microcontroller & microprocessor-based systems
• Prior experience in delivering critical modules for microcontroller projects
• Good understanding of commonly used embedded communication protocols
• Good understanding of common embedded peripherals, interfaces & sensors
• Experience working on Real-Time systems (RTOS)
• Should be able to quickly learn new technologies and enable the team on the same
• Should be able to work with minimal technical guidance

  

Leadership:

• This role requires excellent communication skills
• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
• Should be able to lead junior engineers by providing technical mentoring
• Owns task division, task allocation and tracking within the team

Experience :6+ years of experience in the networking domain

Key skills:

• Must have 6+ years of experience in C/C++ programming language.
• Knowledge of Go programming language and Python programming language is a big plus.
• Strong background in L4-L7 Internet Protocols TCP, HTTP, HTTP2, GRPC and HTTPS/SSL/TLS.
• Background in Internet security related products such as Web Application Firewalls, API Security Gateways, Reverse Proxies and Forward Proxies
• Proven knowledge of Linux kernel internals (process scheduler, memory management, etc.)
• Experience with eBPF is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in cloud architectures (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, distributed systems) with continuous delivery
• Familiar with containerization solutions like Docker/Kubernetes etc.
• Familiar with server less technologies such as AWS Lambda.
• Exposure to machine learning technologies and distributed systems is a plus

2 to 7 yrs Experience in C or CPP or Embedded C, Experience in baremetal or FreeRTOS and Linux based systems, Experience in programming the peripherals like UART, RS485, CAN, PCIe, SPI, I2C. Development of bear metal drivers,Experienced with ARM, x86 and RISCv controllers is a plus

What you’ll do at Ather:

A successful candidate is expected to lead the Firmware development and integration effort for various Ather products and be responsible for qualifying and integrating FW at various stages with HW. Responsibilities include:

• Understanding requirements from different stakeholders and translating these to application features

• Writing high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines

• Unit-testing code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability

• Performing functional and non-functional testing

• Troubleshooting and debugging applications

• Designing creative prototypes according to specifications

• Evaluating existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features

• Developing technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code

• Identifying and communicating possible risks along with preventive and corrective measures

• Designing HW/SW integration while working with HW/Algorithms/Cloud teams to deliver an integrated solution.

• ECU Software development experience (any of the ARM based Auto ECUs Body Electronics/Infotainment/ Powertrain/Cluster) 

• Previous experience with Low level firmware, Boot loaders, Device Drivers development 

• Hands on Experience Communication Protocols CAN, I2C, SPI, RS232

• Experience with static analyser, JTAG tools etc…

• Knowledge in Assembly and compilers

• Strong testing & debugging skills, experience with logic analysers

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of HW design for ECUs

• Experience with UDS, AutoSAR, ISO26262, MISRA Guidelines

Responsibilities and Duties
• Author software requirements from system/customer requirements.
• Complete responsibility for BSW software components development/test/release/maintenance.
• Ability to code software for automotive time critical real-time applications.
• Experience in device drivers development for micro-controller.
• BSW API’s for application demand.
• Will have to configure and develop device drivers for MCU IO’s like Analog & Digital I/O, PWM, CAN, SPI, I2C and Bluetooth.
• Complete understanding of IS0-14229 and should be able to implement complete UDS stack.

Qualifications

• Understand memory map of MCU and should be able to configure as per application needs.
