ROLE
We’re looking to add a Software Engineer II to an already awesome engineering team for Community. You will be responsible for building and maintaining multiple SaaS applications in the social media space. You will work in small, cross-functional teams and love delivering value to our customers through shipping code. We deploy as often as we can and would love you to deploy to production beginning day one.
WHAT YOU’LL DO ?
- Develop high-quality code to implement features that help analytics
- Write unit tests for all new code
- Improve code quality by applying solid design principles
- Perform code reviews
- Exhibit end-to-end ownership of a feature/task/bug
- Work closely with Engineering Manager and Lead Engineer to suggest and implement architectural / design changes
- Work closely with Product manager, Product Design team to ideate and build feature enhancements
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ?
- A Graduate in Computer Science or equivalent degree
- Experienced in building enterprise grade products for minimum of 2 years, that are highly scalable
- Experienced with building Frontend Applications and well versed with Javascript/ReactJS Design patterns, Object Oriented JS, including DOM Manipulation
- Familiarity with Rest API frameworks and patterns
- Well versed with one or more of these technologies:
- Frontend: Frameworks - ReactJS, AngularJS, NodeJS, Apollo
- CSS, TypeScript, Bootstrap, ESLint
- Unit Testing Frameworks - Jest
- Programming Languages: Java

- Independent team member for analyzing requirements, designing, coding, and implementing Avaamo's Conversation AI products.
- As an Avaamo product expert work closely with IT Managers and Business Groups to gather requirements and translate those into the required technical solution.
- Drive solution implementation using the Conversational design approach.
- Develop, deploy and maintain customized extensions to the Avaamo platform-specific to customer requirements.
- Conduct training and technical guidance sessions for partner and customer development teams.
- Evaluating reported defects and the correction of prioritized defects.
- Travel onsite to customer locations for close support.
- Document how to's and implement best practices for Avaamo product solutions.

Technologies / Experience The successful candidate must have the following experience:
● Worked as the tech lead of a development/delivery team in a large organization
● Have worked with a variety of different technical architect roles
● Be deeply proficient in at least one programming language
● Be comfortable using other languages and evidence using multiple languages
● Have hands-on experience with some form of configuration management tooling, e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet
● Have hands-on experience of at least one continuous integration and continuous delivery technology, e.g. Jenkins, Go, Team City or Bamboo.
● Full-stack development experience from the user interface through to data persistence
● A strong proponent of XP practices such as TDD
● Working with a delivery team to formulate an automated test strategy
● Worked as part of a number of agile delivery teams and seen a number of different approaches to delivery
● Good appreciation of secure coding practices and end to end system security
The following exposure will also be looked on favorably:
