Strong Staff Software Engineer / FDE profile (full-stack + production GenAI, multi-team technical leadership)

Mandatory (Experience 1) – Must have 7+ years of relevant professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated full-stack delivery across backend and frontend.

Mandatory (Experience 2) – Must have deep production experience with Python AND JavaScript/TypeScript, working comfortably across the full stack.

Mandatory (Experience 3) – Must have hands-on experience architecting production generative AI applications — LLM integrations, vector databases, RAG systems, and evaluation pipelines

Mandatory (Experience 4) – Must have strong experience with modern frontend frameworks (Next.js / React) and backend API development.

Mandatory (Experience 5) – Must have extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure/GCP valued), including infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation / Terraform).

Mandatory (Experience 6) – Must have working knowledge of multiple database paradigms — relational (PostgreSQL), document, and key-value (Redis) — with ability to select the right storage per problem.

Mandatory (Experience 7) – Must have strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions), containerization, and production deployment strategies.

Mandatory (Experience 8) – Must have demonstrable fluency with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) and proven ability to design agentic engineering workflows and train teams on them

Job Description

Build and maintain bots on Azure platform.  Integration with Active directory, WEB API based integration with external systems. Training and Integrate bots as per users’ requirements. Work in line with design guidelines, best practices and standards of bot deliverable. Creative approach to the conversation flow design, human aspects in the bot responses and sentiments

Qualifications

1. a) 5 years of experience in software development with clear understanding of the project life cycle
   b) Min 2-3 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure Bot Framework , LUIS and other Cognitive services offered by Azure
   c) Hands on experience with Machine Learning based chat bots
   d) Experience with Azure bot services like Text Analytics etc.
   e)Strong database skills and hands-on experience on databases like SQL Server/Oracle
2. f) Strong experience on Azure Active directory and adaptive cards integration in Chat bot.
3. g) Strong experience designing and working with

with service-oriented architectures (SOA) and WebAPIs.

1. h) A strong experience on Microsoft Azure, ASPNET / MVC and programming languages such as C# / VBNET

• Build and ship features in our Node.js (and now migrating to TypeScript) codebase that directly impact user experience and help move the top and bottom line of the business.

• Design scalable platforms that empower our product and marketing teams to rapidly experiment.
• Own the quality of our products by writing automated tests, reviewing code, making systems observable and resilient to failures.
• Drive code quality and pay down architectural debt by continuous analysis of our codebases and systems, and continuous refactoring.
• Architect our systems for faster iterations, releasability, scalability and high availability using practices like Domain Driven Design, Event Driven Architecture, Cloud Native Architecture and Observability.
• Set the engineering culture with the rest of the team by defining how we should work as a team, set standards for quality, and improve the speed of engineering execution.

The role could be ideal for you if you

• Experience of 4-6 years of working in backend engineering with at least 2 years of production experience in TypeScript, Express.js (or another popular framework like Nest.js) and MongoDB (or any popular database like MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, etc.).
• Well versed with one or more architectures and design patterns such as MVC, Domain Driven Design, CQRS, Event Driven Architecture, Cloud Native Architecture, etc.
• Experienced in writing automated tests (especially integration tests) and Continuous Integration. At STAGE, engineers own quality and hence, writing automated tests is crucial to the role.
• Experience with managing production infrastructure using technologies like public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.). Bonus: if you have experience in using Kubernetes.
• Experience in observability techniques like code instrumentation for metrics, tracing and logging.
• Care deeply about code quality, code reviews, software architecture (think about Object Oriented Programming, Clean Code, etc.), scalability and reliability. Bonus: if you have experience in this from your past roles.
• Understand the importance of shipping fast in a startup environment and constantly try to find ingenious ways to achieve the same.
• Collaborate well with everyone on the team. We communicate a lot and don’t hesitate to get quick feedback from other members on the team sooner than later.
• Can take ownership of goals and deliver them with high accountability.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (About 10 - 11 years and at least 9 years relevant experience)

Develop Java webservices and components according to a detailed design document.

Build efficient, reusable and reliable Java code per industry best practices.

Follow TDD approach and ensure unit-test coverage meets quality requirements.

Develop Integration tests to ensure coding adheres to acceptance criteria and verify end-to-end behavior of the system.

Ensure best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of applications.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

Must have experience developing in Java latest version (least version is 8)

Must have experience in design and development using Micro service architecture

Solid knowledge in OOP concepts, and design principles/patterns for developing scalable applications

Must have experience developing Spring Boot applications

Must have experience developing database access layer using Spring Data JPA/Hibernates

Must have experience in developing REST Services using Spring

Good working experience in development of event driven systems using any framework

Must have experience with any RDBMS and at least one NoSQL database preferably PostgresSQL and Mongo DB

Must have experience writing unit and integration tests using Junit

Must have experience using mock frameworks like Mockito, WireMock

Must have experience using Git

Must have experience with CI / CD

Basic hands-on experience in one of the cloud provider (AWS/Azure) or at least docker and Kubernetes
