Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, maintain and optimise complex, scalable and distributed systems capable of handling large-scale datasets and high-throughput workloads.

• Optimise performance, reliability and availability across the whole system.

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in multiple programming languages as needed.

• Contribute to architectural decisions and help improve engineering best practices.

• Work with a builder mindset, contribute and collaborate across cross-functional teams, to unblock and accelerate delivery. No role silos.

• Actively mentor juniors through code reviews, design discussions and pairing.

• Leverage LLM-assisted tools (Claude, Cursor, LLM-powered code review and testing) to accelerate development velocity and improve code quality.

• Build and evolve the platform to be LLM-ready - design APIs, data pipelines and system interfaces that enable seamless LLM integration and automation.

Required Qualifications :

• 3-5 years of experience in back-end software development focusing on large-scale distributed systems.

• BE/B.Tech in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Strong software development skills in one or more languages such as Java / Ruby on Rails / Python.

• Working experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB) with ability to design effective schema and perform various optimisations for large-scale data.

• Deep understanding of system design principles and best practices for building scalable and resilient systems with microservices.

• Excellent problem-solving with experience in incident management, monitoring, alerting, and root cause analysis.

• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ, or similar).

• Experience in building intelligent AI agents and systems powered by Large Language Models.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud Platform.

• Deep understanding of software development best practices, patterns and code reviews.

• Effective communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams during large-scale projects.

Requirements

• Senior SD4 engineer/Principal Engineer/ Architect who has led or been part of platform teams inside a large/mid tech company
• Deep expertise working with any of the programming languages to write maintainable, scalable, unit-tested code.Python experience is a bonus - but not required
• Good understanding of REST APIs and the web in general and ability to build a feature from scratch & drive it to completion
• Experience with Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Load Balancing
• Experience in building a platform team on AWS for Product based companies/start-ups

What You’ll Do

• Build the core technology platform, including Automated provisioning of infrastructure, deployment, and monitoring of services
• Build a central services directory within an organization that shows the cost and health of all services and makes the management of microservices extremely easy
• This involves working with core infrastructure and understanding them in great detail - like Kubernetes, ServiceMesh, Service security
• Mentor/coach engineers to facilitate their development and provide technical leadership

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and designers, to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

• Design and develop server-side logic, APIs, and database schema to support the functionality and performance requirements of our SaaS platform.

• Write clean, modular, and well-documented code using any relevant programming language preferably Java with SpringBoot.

• Optimize the backend systems for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring high performance and responsiveness of the application.

• Implement data storage solutions using PostgreSQL or other relational databases, ensuring data integrity and security.

• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve any issues or bugs in the backend code.

• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in backend development and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.

Requirements:

• Proven work experience as a Backend Developer or similar role, with a focus on server-side development.

• Proficiency in working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and writing efficient SQL queries.

• Familiarity with SaaS concepts and architecture.

• Experience with API design and development, including RESTful APIs.

• Solid understanding of software development principles, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, and data structures.

• Experience with version control systems, such as Git.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory

Roles:

• Developing core infrastructure in Python, Django.
• Developing models and business logic (e. g. transactions, payments, diet plan, search, etc).
• Architecting servers and services that enable new product features.
• Building out newly enabled product features

• Minimum 4 years of industry or open-source experience.
• Proficient in at least one OO language: Python(preferred)/Golang/Java.
• Writing high-performance, reliable and maintainable code.
• Good knowledge of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
• Experience working with AWS components [EC2, S3, RDS, SQS, ECS, Lambda].

• To take lead and manage the backend team.
• Taking ownership and developing new micro services/systems to improve the products.
• Managing and adding on to our linux based content management system as well as our web servers.

• 4+ years of hands-on experience working with serverless architecture.
• Hands-on experience with products at a scale of > 50K DAUs.
• Should be able to architect and implement complex services/systems in a simple and scalable manner.
• Self starter with the ability to lead a team.
• Should be an expert in: Python. AWS Lambda, RDS and EC2 SQL databases, specifically postgresql. NOSQL Database, specifically dynamoDB.
• Should be able to write automated test cases for developed code.
• Should be proficient in the linux environment.
• Having the following skills will an added bonus: Experience developing with Neo4j databases. Firebase services. * Experience working with Docker and ECS.
