Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced PHP Developer to join our web development projects. As a PHP Developer, you will play a key role in writing clean and efficient PHP code, following industry best practices and collaborating with the creative team. Your expertise and problem-solving skills will contribute to the success of our software development process.

Responsibilities:

·        Write backend code and develop efficient PHP modules.

·        Solve complex performance problems and address architectural issues.

·        Integrate and combine data storage solutions.

·        Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle.

·        Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.

·        Collaborate effectively across different time zones using tools like GitHub, video conferences, and documents.

·        Familiarity with common third-party APIs such as Google, Facebook, eBay, etc.

·        Utilize version control tools and work with relational databases.

·        Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.

·        Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

·        Display a keen interest in learning new tools, languages, and workflows.

Requirements:

·        Minimum of 4+ years of experience.

·        Must have experience with WordPress & Laravel.

·        Strong knowledge of PHP programming language and related frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.

·        Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.

·        Experience working with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.

·        Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.

·        Understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.

·        Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

• Should have knowledge in Core PHP and object-oriented programming.
• You will be responsible in developing applications using Laravel/ wordpress/ Codeignitor - preffered (Laravel)
• Responsible for Developing High-Quality Web Applications, Admin dashboards and PHP Scripts, APIs.
• Should be able to Develop, record and maintain cutting edge web-based php applications on portal plus permiium service platforms
• Need to Identify and fix bugs that are found within code.
• Strong knowledge to Interact with SQL databases.
• Must be Creative problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering business value quickly
• Knowledge of MySQL and ability to write/ Maintain complex queries.
• Understanding of object-oriented PHP programming, Jquery and Javascript
• Should have good communication skills

What will I be doing? 👩‍💻👨‍💻

Leading parts of the product from inception to launch, and own large parts of the product’s execution.
Working with our Sales and frontend team to build products with the goal of delighting and increasing the success of our users.
Architecting, building, testing, and releasing product-facing features.
Contributing to our side projects and free tools for the education industry.

What do I need? 🤓

1-2 years of industry experience in a software engineering role, preferably building a SaaS product. You can demonstrate significant impact that your work has had on the product and/or the team.
Deep knowledge of a high-level programming language (for example, PHP, Python, etc.) but it doesn’t need to be a language that we use here! Great people are effective and learn what we use quickly (or introduce us to better ways of working)
Deep knowledge of SQL Databases
Experience with scalable distributed systems, both built from scratch as well as on AWS primitives
Willingness to learn and use new technologies
Extremely data-driven
Ability to debug complex systems

Brownie points 🍰

Understanding of containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) along with ability to deploy to AWS ECS (or similar tools)

• Develop, record and maintain cutting edge web-based PHP applications on portal plus premium service platforms

• Troubleshoot and fix any issues relating to PHP programs
• Ensure smooth operations of web processes and infrastructure
• Create scripts to facilitate client systems to meet performance and objectives
• Test and develop software for client applications
• Create documentation for software created
• Utilize source debuggers and write or modify client software
• Produce results effectively and within the deadlines set
