PHP Developer - Laravel

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tech Lead who can drive the development of high-performance, scalable products while contributing hands-on to coding, architecture, and system design. You will work closely with a small engineering team, guiding them in technology decisions, quality delivery, and best practices while also taking ownership of key modules yourself.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product development from design to deployment.
• Act as both a technical contributor and mentor within a small, agile team.
• Architect scalable, robust, and secure backend and frontend systems.
• Participate in and guide:
• System design & architecture decisions
• Algorithmic analysis and performance optimization
• Database modeling and API design
• Write clean, maintainable, high-quality code.
• Own deployment pipelines and ensure reliable production releases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable technical plans.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure engineering excellence.
• Troubleshoot and solve complex technical challenges in production environments.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in Node.js and/or Python.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript and React.js for frontend development.
• Knowledge of Go (Golang) is a strong advantage.
• Deep understanding of:
• Data Structures & Algorithms
• System Design
• Distributed systems concepts
• Microservices architecture
• Experience with deployment using:
• Docker, Kubernetes, or similar orchestration tools
• CI/CD pipelines
• Cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)
• Strong understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL).

• Strong leadership and ability to guide a small development team.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field 4 to 6 years of design and development experience in scalable and distributed enterprise applications using Java/J2EE, JPA, Spring boot framework and RESTful web services Experience in managing, implementing and optimizing big data stores such as MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, DynamoDB Experience in deploying applications and using various managed services provided by cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Experience in front-end technologies HTML5, CSS3, React.js, Angular and D3.js is preferred Strong foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design Proven ability to drive large scale projects with deep understanding of Agile SDLC, high collaboration and leadership

About the role

MUST HAVE SKILLS
Back-end development using Laravel, Lumen, MySQL / PGSQL

• RESTful API development & integration of 3rd party services (like payment gateways, Email marketing tools, SMS/ Whatsapp, etc.)
• High quality coding which can be replicated and used to scale.
• Prompt to troubleshoot and fix bugs and use of GIT

• Experience in React.JS, AWS, DevOps
• Experience in a Product based SaaS Startup.

• Passionate about building products and features and building a product from scratch with thrust on DevOps, Web security, TLS/SSL, web sockets, etc.
• Have a good understanding of setting up & managing cloud servers like AWS, Google cloud, etc.
• Manage Key-value based databases like Redis

Desired Candidate Profile

• 2-5 years of experience in rest api/Database design, development and architecture
• Strong programming and debugging skills with sound understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming
• PHP/ Mysql experience with hands on application delivery is a must
• Hands on experience with an API management
• Experience with synchronous and asynchronous interfaces and Microservice API development is a must
• Hands-on experience with version control system like Git is desirable
• Knowledge in PHP, Codeigniter, Doctrine, MySQL, ElasticSearch, ReST endpoint development
• Implementing API management using API management software (like Apigee or others) to include API proxies mashups, rate limiting, security, analytics, monetization and developer portals
• Kafka/RabbitMQ messaging architecture notification
• Knowledge of Algorithms and data structures is also essential
• An awareness of security concerns is important, as each layer has its vulnerabilities
• Knowledge of the differences between multiple delivery platforms like mobile vs. desktop
• Basic exposure to frontend techs like HTML and CSS is desirable    

• Excellent problem-solving & analytical skills & OO principles
• Solid understanding of the data structure & algorithms.
• Very good experience with PHP programming language
• Hands on experience working on Laravel. Experience with any other framework would be nice to have
• Troubleshooting skills to reproduce & resolve issues in production systems

• Experience with deployment on server would be nice to have
• Working experience with AWS services like s3, lama, cognito, would be added advantage
