Data Engineer  

Overview 

We are seeking skilled Data Engineers to join our Data & Digital Twin Foundation team. You will design, build, and maintain data pipelines that power digital twin platforms, real-time operational systems, and AI/ML workloads. Working closely with data architects, simulation engineers, and ML teams, you will transform raw operational data into high-quality, governed datasets that drive intelligent decision-making. 

Our core data platform stack includes: 

Data Platform & Lakehouse 

• Databricks as the single point of truth for all data
• Realtime Data Pipelines implemented using Kafka for data ingestion.
• Databricks SQL for analytical queries 
• Unity Catalog for metadata management and governance 
• Terradata for data warehouse and business intelligence.

Stream & Event Processing 

• Apache Kafka for real-time event ingestion 
• Structured Streaming for continuous data processing 
• Delta Live Tables for declarative, quality-enforced pipelines  

Data Quality 

• Delta Live Tables expectations for data validation 
• Data profiling and anomaly detection 

Key Responsibilities 

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake 
• Build real-time and batch data ingestion pipelines from diverse operational systems using high-performance Kafka data pipelines.
• Implement data transformations that serve digital twin platforms and operational analytics 
• Integrate Kafka event streams with Databricks for real-time operational state updates 
• Implement data quality checks using Delta Live Tables expectations 
• Ensure data governance compliance through Unity Catalog (lineage, access control, metadata) 
• Optimize pipeline performance, reliability, and cost efficiency 
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following engineering best practices 
• Collaborate with ML engineers to deliver feature-engineered datasets 
• Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives 
• Support production data systems through monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
• Build business data warehouse solutions using Terradata for business intelligence.

Preferred Qualifications 

• 7+ years of hands-on data engineering experience 
• Track record of building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines 
• Experience with Delta Live Tables for declarative pipeline development 
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams 
• Familiarity with time-series data patterns and operational data modelling 

Highly Desirable 

• Experience building data pipelines for digital twin or simulation platforms 
• Familiarity with operational state modeling for real-time systems 
• Exposure to physics-informed or time-series ML feature engineering 
• Experience working with distributed, multidisciplinary teams 
• Exposure to industrial domains such as Manufacturing, Logistics, or Transportation is a plus

About the Role

Kim.cc is building the AI-powered BPO of the future. As a Prompt Engineer, you will design,

refine, and optimize prompt systems that power our LLM-driven features—across agent

assistance, QA automation, ticket summarization, customer insights, routing, and voice/chat

workflows.

You will work at the intersection of language, product logic, and AI behaviour, shaping

how our AI systems reason, respond, and perform in real-world customer support

environments.

Key Responsibilities

Prompt Design & Optimization

● Craft high-quality prompts, instructions, workflows, and agent behaviours for

LLM-based features.

● Build, iterate, and optimize prompts for reliability, accuracy, tone, safety, and cost.

● Develop evaluation frameworks to test performance across edge cases, failure

modes, and regressions to ensure robustness.

LLM System Development

● Work closely with AI engineers to integrate prompts into chains, RAG systems, or

hybrid models.

● Create prompt-based pipelines for tasks like:

○ Chat/voice summarization

○ Classification & tagging

○ QA automation

○ Disposition prediction

○ Agent-assist suggestions

○ Multi-step reasoning & workflows

Data & Evaluation

● Analyze call/chat transcripts to identify patterns and refine prompt logic.

● Run A/B tests, prompt benchmarks, and track quality metrics (accuracy,

hallucinations, latency).

● Document prompt changes, rationale, and performance deltas.

Cross-functional Collaboration

● Partner with product, ops, and engineering teams to understand workflows and

problem statements.

● Translate business requirements into robust prompt systems.

● Build internal frameworks, libraries, and best practices for prompt engineering.

What You Should Bring

● Strong command over language, reasoning, and structured communication.

● Experience working with LLMs, prompt engineering, or NLP-based products.

● Familiarity with OpenAI APIs, Anthropic, HuggingFace, LangChain, or similar

ecosystems.

● Analytical mindset with the ability to test, measure, and improve AI outputs.

● Ability to think through real-world workflows and edge cases.

● Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to Have

● Experience with Python for prototyping or evaluation automation.

● Understanding of customer support workflows or BPO operations.

● Exposure to RAG, embeddings, or LLM fine-tuning.

Professional Experience with 5+ years in Confluent Kafka Admin

·    Demonstrated experience design / development.

·    Must have proven knowledge and practical application of – Confluent Kafka (Producers/ Consumers / Kafka Connectors / Kafka Stream/ksqlDB/Schema Registry)

·    Experience in performance optimization of consumers, producers.

·    Good experience debugging issues related offset, consumer lag, partitions.

·    Experience with Administrative tasks on Confluent Kafka.

·    Kafka admin experience including but not limited to setup new Kafka cluster, create topics, grant permissions, offset reset, purge data, setup connectors, setup replicator task, troubleshooting issues, Monitor Kafka cluster health and performance, backup and recovery.

·    Experience in implementing security measures for Kafka clusters, including access controls and encryption, to protect sensitive data.

·    Install/Upgrade Kafka cluster techniques.

·    Good experience with writing unit tests using Junit and Mockito

·    Have experience with working in client facing project.

·    Exposure to any cloud environment like AZURE is added advantage.

·    Experience in developing or working on REST Microservices

Experience in Java, Springboot is a plus
